DIY New Year's gnomes

That's it New Year, but there are a lot of holidays on the doorstep, guys. Today we will try to make such a small gnome that you can give to friends and family. Those gifts that are made with your own hands are especially appreciated. self made created in a single copy. And so we get to work.

He's wearing a red hat -
Shines at night, shines during the day.
All so funny, -
Small and cute!
The gnome is a symbol of kindness!
Let the old year go
It will take away all sorrows.

Purpose: This presented master class can be used in labor lessons, i.e. in educational activities from 6 years old, etc. This master class will also be interesting for adults (mothers, grandmothers). I developed this pattern 20 years ago, when there was no literature. I simply made it based on a picture from the fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We especially sew such a gnome for the New Year. This gnome can be used as a souvenir, fairy tale characters for tabletop theater and much more that you come up with yourself, can also be used as a Christmas tree decoration.
Target:
- Make patterns and sew our gnomes based on them;
- Be able to work with fabric, connect parts of products.
Tasks:
- Be able to cut according to a pattern;
- Develop fine motor skills hands, attention, aesthetic taste;
- Cultivate interest in this work;
- Get a feeling of satisfaction from the work done.
For this we need:
Necessary materials and tools: different pieces of fabric of different colors, short-haired black fur; black beads for eyes; narrow braid for gartering the neck; multi-colored sewing threads; scissors; patterns (stencils);

Cotton wool or padding polyester; pencil.

Operating procedure:
3.

From beige cotton fabric, according to the pattern, we cut out two parts for the head and two parts for the palms with allowances of 0.5 cm. On the head, mark the undercuts on the wrong side on both parts.
4.

Sew the darts with a sewer stitch from the wide end to the narrow end. Place the head pieces right sides together and hand stitch around the edges, leaving a slit for stuffing. Turn it inside out and stuff it with cotton wool. Fold up the hole at the head and sew with hidden stitches.
5.

Fold the parts of the palms for the hands in pairs and sew with a machine stitch. Leaving a slit at the top. Make cuts on the thumb of the gnome's palm, not reaching the seam 0.1 cm. Turn it inside out and stuff it with cotton wool, leaving it unstuffed at the top. Palms are ready.
6.

Now cut out 2 parts of the cap for the gnome from red fabric, leaving allowances of 0.5 - 0.7 cm.
7.

Place the pieces right sides together and machine stitch around and leave a slit at the bottom of the cap into the base. We cut out the corners of the cap at an angle of 45 degrees. We make notches in the concave place. Turn it onto your face and stuff it with cotton wool. Make a tassel from red yarn and sew it to the cap.
8.

Cover the body of the gnome from thick fabric, maybe multi-colored. The back panel is 2 parts, the front panel is 1 part, and the arms are 4 parts. When cutting out, do not forget to allow allowances of 0.5 cm to 0.7 cm.
9.

Place the pieces right sides together in pairs and stitch around, leaving a seam allowance. Leave a slit at the bottom. We make notches in the concave areas of the parts, not reaching 0.1 cm from the seam. Turn it inside out and stuff it with cotton wool.
10.

Fold the back panel with the right sides inward and stitch along the middle seam not all the way, leaving room for the legs. On the front panel, first sew the dart at the neckline, then fold the back and front panels with the right sides inward and sew the side and crotch seams 0.5 cm from the edge. Turn the body over onto the face and stuff it with cotton wool.
11.

Cut out the pants according to the pattern from pieces of denim.
12.

Sew as you sewed the body. Turn it inside out and put it on your body. At the waist of the pants, turn them inward by 0.5 cm and sew them with a hidden seam.
13.

From the drape, cut out 1 piece of the vest, 2 pieces of the shoe, 2 pieces of the sole, 2 pieces of the top of the shoe without seam allowances.
14.

At the top of the shoes back seam Sew along the front side using a loop stitch with threads matching the color of the fabric. Sew the sole to the top of the shoes along the front side, also using a loop stitch.
15.

Connect the vest along the front side with a shoulder seam using a buttonhole stitch with threads matching the color of the fabric. Using scissors, cut out corners along the edge of the vest.
16.

Sew a red cap to your head. Sew fur along the bottom of the cap. Sew the palms to the bottom of the hand. Take 2 pieces of black beads for the eyes and sew them in place of the eyes. Color your lips and cheeks with lipstick and iron through the paper. Put panties on your body, and sew shoes to the bottom of the panties with oblique stitches. Sew the arms in place of the arms using a blind stitch. Place the head in place of the head, also with a hidden seam. Put the vest on the gnome. Tie a braid or ribbon where the head meets the body.
17.

Hurray our gnome is ready! Using this pattern, Dasha made seven gnomes!
Dasha is currently developing a Snow White pattern.

So our gnome “Hurray!” is ready. Well done!
I am very grateful to Daria Khanzhina for her help in preparing the master class and for the processed photos. All our gnomes make up one composition that can be used for a tabletop tetra. Daria had the idea to create the character of Snow White and write a swear word herself. I think Daria will succeed.

And so, our master class is finished, by reading it you learned how to sew according to this pattern, select pieces of fabric, threads to match the color of the fabric, and perform hand-machine stitching.
I wish you all good luck and creative success! If you have any questions, ask. I will answer with pleasure. I think that it was interesting and useful and our work was not in vain. I will be very glad to leave comments.
We are gnomes from a fairy tale,
We live in a dense forest.
We love dancing very much
And a beautiful Christmas tree.
We love to have fun
And sing songs!

Tolkien as a Vedic writer

The attempts of Christians to present Tolkien as a Christian writer cause laughter. This speaks of a complete misunderstanding of the Anglo-Saxons in general and a basic inability to carry out analysis.
Let us recall that the Anglo-Saxons profess the principle of “changing the internal content under the same guise.” Tolkien based his works on the myths of the white race, which later dissolved into national myths. In turn, they are based on the northern Vedas, a stripped-down copy of which are the modern Indian Vedas. By the way, what the Kremlin is now presenting as Vedas and what are called felt-Aryan (here is Tartary, where there is not a word about the rights of the inhabitants of this very Tartary, but only some kind of greatness) Vedas are not Vedas (Melkorov’s distortion?), since there is not a word about self-knowledge (meditation), establishing control over reality and managing it.
Christianity itself, namely the teachings of Jesus Christ, arose in Judea, a province of the Roman Empire, through which trade flowed with India. Jesus Christ lived in India from the age of 12 to 33 and after. There is a grave there. Accordingly, in Judea he preached the Vedic teaching, which was later edited at the Ecumenical Councils. The Sermon on the Mount is dedicated to the ability to think, to distinguish between false and true information. It is filled with a whole series of complex concepts that would give pseudo-Christians a headache just because of their stupidity. It is not for you to crawl on your knees before the slave-owning god Yahweh.
Christianity is an Indian Vedic teaching that spread to the Middle East (Judea), then to Rome and was curtailed by 99% by the Ecumenical Councils.
The knowledge of the northern Vedic tradition was passed on in England in closed societies called Masonic, and today it is available to everyone, since no one hides it. Masons measure rather than submit to the will of a slave-owning God. That is, they think, but do not believe - they accept facts without evidence. Therefore, Tolkien is a Vedist under the Christian flag and nothing more.
Melkor is not Satan. Satan is bad in Christianity because he does not obey the will of God. Melkor was not obliged to rise to the will of Eru (the One), and his activity contrary to him is another integral part of the plan of Eru himself. The conditional negative of Melkor is that he does not create, but destroys and distorts - these are Vedic concepts aimed at understanding what is conditionally good and what is bad, and not some slavish absolute prohibitions as in Christianity.
Gandalf calls himself wise, that is, he sees cause-and-effect relationships. The rest of his equals are called wise. Among Christians, wisdom and knowledge are not held in high esteem. For Christians, knowledge increases sorrow. The era is esthete, but there is no aesthetics in Christianity at all; self-flagellation and squalor are encouraged. Orcs were aesthetically disgusting to Eru, and Christians believe that all people should live like orcs. And Era did not destroy the orcs, but allowed them to live in peace, as well as the Numenoreans. The destruction of Numenor is not the destruction of Sodom and Gomorah due to an incorrect way of life in general, but its destruction occurred due to an attack on the lands of the immortals. Elves do not reincarnate, but people do reincarnate, that is, they go to an unknown place - they do not remember their previous incarnations. Analogous to the curtain of Melien. In a number of early works, Eru says that he is not a person in the understanding of people, but a very complex system that needs to be cognized, that is, known. This is also evidenced by Finrod's dialogue with Undrat, which indicates the complexity of Eru. And complexity is the concept of the knower, but not the believer.
Let us add that Tolkien’s world map coincides with the map of Europe. And in the unfinished Oxford cycle, Tolkien directly indicates that in the 20th century, a certain group of scientists visited knowledge of Atlantis (Numenore), and Aman today is North America. It is logical to assume that the direct route to Valinor is connected with the Bermuda Triangle, since it prevents people from getting from Europe to the USA and they disappear to God knows where.
In general, there are no Christians anymore, since in Christianity all the power comes from God or from Satan. But 99% of the modern population read stories like Harry Potter, play Online Games such as “Skyrim”, “The Witcher”, etc., where they themselves are the acquirers and bearers of power. It is neither from God nor from the Devil. Similarly, in Tolkien, power lies even in objects, and does not come from God or Melkor. 99% of people today thus adhere to the Vedic worldview on the basis of the fact that they themselves comprehend themselves and their capabilities. The emperors of Europe had figurines of Aphrodite, Zeus and other pagan gods, who are the personification of Vedism, but not the crucifixion. In Constantinople there were temples dedicated to Zeus, Aphrodite, etc., many frescoes with naked maidens, like the Indian Kama Sutra, but according to Byzantine chronicles, no one went to Christian churches.

A LITTLE ABOUT GNOMES

If we analyze the fairy tales and legends that exist today, the Gnome is a little man who lives for about 400 years. Around 200 years old he gets married. And then he and his wife have twins. Definitely! After the gnome has fulfilled his duty to procreate, he does his favorite thing - smoking a small pipe. However, he has a lot of things to do besides this. As a rule, the Dwarf keeps treasures forgotten by someone under the roots of trees. But even if you rush to look for this treasure right now, you won’t succeed! After all, despite the fact that the Dwarf is so small, he is 7 times stronger than a person.

Dikmi: My friend Brenda says this is the first time she made a Gnome doll for her little son, as a gift for the Christmas tree: “It was a soft little man, filled with sawdust, with a beard made of yarn and a woolen jacket, with an embroidered face.” And then she became curious and began experimenting with different materials, embroidery, emotions. This is how the first collection was born. This is how unusual gifts turned out. I became the lucky owner of one of them!

TOP 10 INCREDIBLE GNOME GIFTS YOU CAN MAKE WITH YOUR OWN HANDS

1. Merry elves

Elves are magical Dwarves who came to us from Celtic folklore. In the modern interpretation, they are the guardians of wisdom and dungeons. They usually wear a red caftan and a green cap. However, as New Year's gift, you can use any combination of colors to create elves.

To make elves at home, you will need:

Small and large wooden beads, one large round ball (for the face) and an oblong one (for the body)

Little bell

Hot glue and glue gun

Chenille, bright felt and scissors

Ribbon

How to make funny elves (step by step instructions):

1. Making a cap. Cut a circle with a diameter of 5 cm from felt. Cut the circle in half. Roll half of it into a cone and glue the edges. Sew a small bell to the top of the cap. The cap is ready!

3. Assembling the little man. Using tape we connect two large wooden balls - the head and the torso. We leave a small gap between the head and body to attach the handles (small beads strung on small pieces of ribbon). We secure the edges of the handles with knots. We do the legs in the same way. For handles, 6 small beads and 2 more are enough large size, for legs - 8 small and 2 large.

4. Decorate. Tie the scarf prepared earlier around the elf’s neck. Tie a ribbon to the bell at the tip of the hat (so that the elf can be hung on a Christmas tree, closet, or wall by the bed).
Dikmi: Our first Gnome is ready! This is the simplest version of a magical fairy tale resident. More complex and time-consuming options are ahead!

2. Forest gnomes

Dikmi: Forest Dwarfs are the most responsible category of the fairy-tale brethren. They are stern and serious. They are usually given to people who are necessary and important in your life. Those on whom you depend to one degree or another.

What will you need?

Felt (soft) at least 2-3 colors

Wool for felting

Threads (preferably knitting, wool)

Scissors, needles

How to do it?

1. Make the body and head of the Dwarves. The body and head should be light, but at the same time dense and voluminous. We use the technique of dry felting wool. To do this, take a piece of wool (preferably neutral, flesh-colored) and repeatedly pierce it with a special needle until it falls off. It is important to achieve adhesion of the fibers to each other and a state of homogeneity and clarity. geometric shapes: sphere and prism. Sew the head and body tightly together.

2. Form the cap. Using the principle of an elf hat, we cut out a circle from felt with a diameter equal to the height of the Dwarf. Cut it in half. We form a cone from half and sew it together. Important! The seams of this toy are open and made with bright threads. This gives a special charm to the finished product.

3. Making a raincoat. The raincoat is a rectangle made of felt, the edges of which are slightly rounded and finished with an overcast stitch. In order to secure the cloak around the Dwarf's neck, it is necessary to make a stitch at a height of approximately 0.7 cm from the top edge of the cloak. Leave free edges of the thread to form ties.

4. Dress. We make it according to the principle of a rectangle-cloak. We fasten it to the body using a curved seam after decorating it with embroidery.

5. Embroidery. Embroidery is the subject of every master's fantasy. We decorate a cap, a dress and a cloak with it.

6. Assembling the toy.

Dikmi: This feeling when the wool slides between your fingers cannot be compared with anything. You can simply close your eyes and imagine that you are in that mysterious and fabulous world of the past, myths, elves and gnomes. And embroidery is an indescribable way of self-realization: color, shape, talking with just your eyes and halftones. Van Gogh, Matisse, Alphonse Mucha are all mixed with folk art. Try it, and perhaps this year a miracle will live in your home!

3. Moomins

Dikmi: These are also in the category of riddles. Fairy-tale characters, forest dwellers, lovers of cookies with jam. Previously, they lived in people's houses, behind the stove, like brownies. But then stoves began to disappear in houses, and centralized heating appeared. The Moomins went to live in the forest. Their main dream is the realization of all the best that is inherent in a person. Their main rule: everyone can be themselves, but no one has the right to think only about themselves. Do you have friends who also need to be reminded of this rule? Then quickly make a troll mummies and go visit them for the New Year!

What will you need?

40 cm square of felt for a hat

40 by 20 cm piece of felt for the face

Small pieces (can be trimmed) of felt for eyes, ears and hat decoration

A papier-mâché cone and a round box, also made of papier-mâché (all of these can be found in craft stores)

Sequins, pompoms, bells

How to do it?

1. Glue the hat. In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp. water with ¼ cup PVA glue. Then we cover half of the cone blank for the hat with the adhesive mixture. Wrap with prepared felt. Carefully smooth out the glued areas so that there are no air bubbles left. Then glue and wrap the other half.

2. Making a face. In the same way, by gradually gluing a round piece of paper and felt.

3. Cut out the eyes and ears. From white felt cut out two circles (eyes). Glue the face to the dried blank. On top there are smaller circles, black. We roll up the ears from the leftover felt for the face and glue them on.

4. Assembling the toy. Glue the finished face and hat together. Let it dry. Then decorate the hat to your liking.

5. We give a gift with character!

4. Tildas - unusual forest Santas

Dikmi: But such serious little men can easily be made from an old cashmere sweater.

What will you need?

Solid Cashmere Sweater

White wool yarn

Wool for dry felting, matching cashmere

Padding (special material for soft toys, or cotton wool, balls, small sawdust)

Needle, thread, glue, cotton wool

How to do it?

1. Making the torso. We cut out a cone-shaped piece from the sweater fabric. And a circle (for the bottom) with a diameter of 15-17 cm. Sew the edges of the cone, stuff it with cotton wool, wool or padding polyester. Sew on the bottom. You can use open seams, this will give the forest Santa a unique charm.

2. Form the head, nose and cap. From wool, using dry felting, we make a dense ball head for Santa (diameter no more than 1.5 cm). We also make the nose (0.3 cm). Pull out and seal the cap. We sew the cap to the head, hiding the seam under the cotton edge (attached with glue). Sew on the nose.

3. Making a beard. We make a beard from white woolen thread. To do this, you need to fold the thread into three balls, and sew strands of different lengths, from 5 to 15 cm, onto it. Secure the finished beard (you can sew it to the head ball, or you can glue it).

4. Making handles. We also sew the arms from pieces of sweater fabric. We stuff it (not too tightly), sew the edges to the felted pom-poms on one side (tassels), and on the other to the body.

5. Eyes. You can use pieces of black felt, beads, and colored paper for the eyes.

6. We rejoice at the unusual gift!

5. Christmas Angels made of wool

Dikmi: We have a good tradition in our family. Every Christmas we hang a little Angel in the yard on a tree. It is a symbol of kinship, protection, blessing for our family. A reminder that we love each other, and love those who are no longer with us.

What will you need?

Wooden bead

Pipe brush

Felting needle

White (or flesh-colored) and colored wool

Rovnica

How to do it?

1. Form the head and arms. Fold a piece of ruff in half. We attach a wooden ball to the bend (this will be the head), and the ends of the wire - the arms. Then we begin to wind a thin layer of wool from the head to the tips of the arms.

2. Making the face and body. We divide a flat piece of roving in half and thread the finished Angel’s head through. We fasten the roving threads at the waist.

3. Making hair. Fold the wool (or roving) threads in half to the desired length. Sew to the head. You can also braid three thin pieces of material to create a braid. Then sew it to the hair in the shape of a wreath.

4. Halo. We twist a ring from a piece of ruff. Then we wrap a thin layer of roving over it. We fix it under the hair.

5. Wings. We tie a piece of white roving 13 cm long in the middle. We fluff the edges. We tie the wings to the body using silver thread.

Dikmi: That's all! Now you have your own personal Angel!

6. Star babies

Dikmi: But these guys, they say, bring happiness to the house! If, suddenly, one of your friends still hasn’t got a baby, give them this talisman for the New Year! And very soon they will invite you to a christening!

What will you need?

Wooden beads (one large, 4 medium sizes)

Pipe brush

Felt

Thread and needles

How to do it?

The babies are made almost according to the Angel's pattern (see above). Detailed master class and drawing of the overalls - in the photo:

The hat is knitted by hand using knitting needles. Set of loops - 6 +2 outer ones followed by reduction.

7. Old boletus

Dikmi: Who doesn't like porcini mushrooms? Especially if you collect them yourself in the forest in the fall, then fry them in oil. MMM! I'm already drooling! This is a reminder of walking together, joy, and relaxation that you can give to your friends. Let the space under the tree be filled with the aroma of a pine forest, mystery and adventure!

What will you need?

Half a meter of dense fabric (wool, linen, calico)

Wool thread for knitting

Needles, stuffing material

How to do it?

1. Sew the body. For the body you will need 3 squares of fabric 15 by 15 cm, and two rectangles - 5 by 15 cm. Sew all the parts together, forming a bag. We fill it with padding polyester or other material.

2. Sew on the nose. Using white felt or linen we form a slightly oblong nose. Sew to the body. We make braids using threads. We also sew it on.

3. Sew a hat. The hat consists of four triangles. Two of them are bent inward for greater density. The hat is also stuffed with padding polyester. Bend the tip to your liking.

4. Decorate. Aprons - pants with suspenders, show off the boletus's character by decorating them to your liking.

8. Mysterious houses

Dikmi: Prepare amulets gifts for your family and friends. Bring them full baskets of ears of grain (so that life in the New Year will be rich and well-fed), garlic (as a talisman against evil spirits and the evil eye), sunflower seeds (as a symbol of health for all family members, especially children). And in addition to such a gift - a mysterious old house-elder. You can make it simply (use the master class on making a forest Santa tilde, only without the body). He will not allow trouble to come to your doorstep, will avert the evil eye and will be the guardian of your personal happiness all year long!

9. Santa Clauses on logs

Dikmi: But what if you don’t have too much time to prepare a gift? Do you really want to surprise with something original (and definitely handmade)? Buy a bunch of logs for the fireplace, paint them with regular artistic gouache in the colors of Santa Claus, attach a pompom nose and enjoy the reaction to your super unusual gift!

10. Knitted Gnome

Dikmi: I saw this old man in winter clothes when the article was literally ready for publication. And I just fell in love with him! Look what strength, wisdom and touchingness is hidden in it at the same time! I would really like to know how it is made. Maybe you know?

Make your family and friends happy unusual gifts made with my own hands and always with a piece of your soul inside, instead of a heart! Let the New Year be sincere and bring only positive emotions! Good luck to you!

Who are gnomes? These are fairy-tale characters, dwarfs who live underground and are famous for their countless riches. They are also great masters and almost magicians. Previously, it was believed that they all had beards, but now this version has been revised because a gnome cannot be born with a beard.

Previously, people thought that all gnomes were evil, greedy and treacherous, that they sat on their chests of gold and did not give them to anyone. Now this characteristic of them has been revised. Every year we make gnomes to bring us gifts.

But for all times there remains one constant sign by which you can immediately recognize him - this is the cap! If the toy has a cap with a bell, then it is a gnome! Therefore, now we will make dolls with caps.

Bright New Year's gnomes on your Christmas tree can not only hang one at a time, but also dance in circles on their fluffy green paws. To do this, you just need to sew a few of these funny little men out of fabric. This garland will be as long as you want. It can be placed on the Christmas tree or by the fireplace; this cheerful trinity can be attached to a canvas, placed in a frame and hung on the wall.

Copy the patterns, make paper patterns, and then cut out as many parts from the fabric as shown in the photo. These parts are enough for three gnomes.

Cut out the body from white fabric, leaving seam allowance. If you want to make the body flesh-colored, you can soak the fabric for half an hour in tea leaves.

Sew the cut out pieces along solid lines and turn them right side out, tucking the unstitched hem inside.

The legs and Christmas scarves need to be sewn in the same way.

Fill the sewn parts with padding polyester or other filler, pin the legs to the body with pins, and then sew.

Next you need to make doll clothes. It can be sewn from bright colored or plain fabric. First we sew the shirt along the shoulder seams, then we sew the neckline, sew down the side seams and turn up the sleeves.

We sew the top seams of the pants first, and then the legs. We hem the length, tuck the belt and put the gnomes in their outfits.

You can add pleats to the waistband of your shorts to make them sit tighter at the waist. Tie a scarf to the rag dolls and glue synthetic yarn hair onto their heads.

New Year's gnomes must have caps. Start by cutting out a felt cone. Then try them on, sew them, turn them inside out and dress the little people in them.

We sew bells to felt hats.

Every New Year's gnome should bring Christmas gifts to the house. Therefore, we will give everyone a bag and make a small garland of gnomes.

Cone gnome

If you have open, seeded pine cones, you can make fun gnomes out of them. Take a large bead or any suitable size ball and glue it to the top of the cone.

You don't need a pattern, just cut a cone out of felt and sew the cap. Make a scarf, sew on a bell, draw eyes and dress up the gnome.

Christmas herbal gnomes

Such a holiday gift will not only be pleasant, but also useful. After all, in a bag made of bright cotton fabric there will be the most medicinal herb in the world. Glue a wooden ball to the bag. This will be the head, so draw a funny face on it. And again sew and put a felt cap on the ball so that our little man can rightfully consider himself a gnome.

New Year's gnome made of fabric

This video shows how easy and simple it is to sew a tilde gnome, the funniest gnome of all. To do this you will need:

  • felt in two colors (red and gray);
  • nose bead;
  • two wooden shoes;
  • two strips of knitted fabric for the legs;
  • glue;
  • faux fur or synthetic beard yarn;
  • filler;
  • embroidery threads.

This tilde gnome can sit or hang on the Christmas tree.

Another option in the video below and the pattern:

Gnome Scops Owl from nylon

Here is the most detailed and understandable master class on how to make a wonderful toy out of nylon. And it’s okay that he’s sleeping and, actually, not really a gnome. But, firstly, gnomes also sleep. And, secondly, we have already decided that the status of a gnome is determined by his headdress. Therefore, if you put on this charming nylon doll not a cap cut from a sock heel, but a cap with a bell, then it will be a real sleeping gnome.

Gnome in just 30 minutes

Gnome from an old jumper

Very soon we will feel the atmosphere again New Year's holiday. And, of course, not only gifts and a festive table will help us with this, but also decorations and decor. And we will create just this decor together with you with our own hands.

In this master class we will sew beautiful magical Scandinavian gnomes. Ready? Then let's get to work.

Materials and tools

In order to sew three Scandinavian gnomes we will need:

  • Thick blue cotton fabric,
  • Fleece red,
  • Light felt (for the face),
  • Light beige felt (for the nose),
  • White faux fur,
  • Holofiber,
  • Red yarn,
  • Leg-split,
  • thin wire,
  • Threads,
  • Scissors,
  • Transparent adhesive for fabric.

Cutting

On a separate piece of paper we will draw all the details of the gnomes. We indicate their number.

We cut out the paper parts of our gnomes.

Stages of work

We start working with the torso. We will sew three gnomes at once. We lay the blue fabric on the table in two layers, right sides inward. Let's prepare paper parts for the body, bottom and legs of the gnomes.

Lay out the patterns on the fabric. We pin them with pins. Using chalk, transfer the outlines of the parts onto the fabric.

We put marks on the leg parts with chalk (holes through which we will turn the parts right side out).

Along the marked lines we grind down the details of the torso and legs. We do not stitch the bottom of the body, but leave holes on the parts of the legs (according to the marks). We don't touch the bottom details yet.

We cut out the parts of the body and legs with small allowances.

Now, along the outlined lines, we cut out the details of the lower body. Also with small allowances. Please note that we only cut out three parts.

Let's move on to the handles of the gnomes. Let's prepare blue fabric and red fleece. Take the paper part of the gnome's hand.

On the fleece in one layer we mark stripes 4 cm wide.

The details of the gnomes' hands are sewn from two fabrics of different colors. So we cut out red strips of fabric and pin them to the blue fabric sections.

We machine stitch a strip of red fleece with the main blue fabric.

Turn the red stripes up. We fold the prepared pieces of fabric, right sides inward, aligning the stitching seams together. We pin them along the seams so that they do not move.

We pin the paper pattern of the hand with pins. The line of the mitten marked on the pattern should coincide with the seam line on the fabric. Using chalk, transfer the contours of the hands onto the prepared pieces of fabric.

We mark the holes with chalk for turning the parts right side out.

We machine stitch the parts of the arms.

We cut out the parts with small allowances.

Using the tips of the scissors, make notches on the rounded areas of the allowances. This will give us the opportunity to easily turn the parts right side out and get smooth seams without corners.

Through the holes left, turn the parts of the legs and arms right side out.

On the details of the lower body we mark the centers with chalk.

Mark the holes along the bottom of the body parts with chalk.

Using pins, we pin the bottom piece to the body, aligning the centers of the bottom with the stitching seams of the pieces. We chop only two bodies in this way. We leave the third one for now, because our third gnome is in a different pose.

We fold the third body as shown in the figure, matching the stitching seams. We put marks on the sides.

Now we align the centers of the bottom part with the marks on the sides. We pin the bottom to the body with pins.

Using pins, we sew together the bottom parts with the body parts using hand stitches.

We machine stitch the parts of the bottom with the body, leaving holes for turning. Using the tips of the scissors, we make notches along the allowances. Be careful not to damage the integrity of the stitching.

Through the holes left, turn each body right side out. We straighten the seams.

We fill the handles with holofiber through the holes. Distribute the filler evenly along the length of the parts. We also fill the torso.

Using hand, invisible stitches, we sew up the holes on the torso and arms of the gnomes.

We cut out the faces of gnomes from light felt. The pattern of the legs and face are the same. We pin the pattern. We outline the contours and cut out the parts without seam allowances.

We pin the faces to each gnome with pins. Please note that we pin the faces of the two (top) gnomes to the front on the stitching seams. One gnome (bottom) on the front without a seam.

We sew on the faces using hand loop stitches and light threads.

We cut out noses from light beige felt. We pin the pattern.

We outline the details on the felt with chalk. Cut them out without seam allowances.

We collect slices of circles on a needle in a circle.

We tighten the thread and get a pocket, which we fill with a small amount of holofiber. Pull the thread all the way and use a few hand stitches to secure the tightened sections of the resulting ball.

We pin the arms to the bodies of the gnomes with pins. For two gnomes we pin the arms to the sides of the body, and for one - along the seams (the arms stretch to one side).

Using hand hidden stitches we sew the arms to the body of each gnome.

We cut out caps from red fleece, folded in two layers. Use a pin to pin the paper pattern to the fleece. We draw the outline of the pattern with chalk.

We lay machine stitches along the marked lines. We cut out the caps with small allowances.

Using a thin wooden stick, turn the caps right side out.

We cut out beards for gnomes from faux fur. We pin the beard pattern to the fur with pins.

Draw the outline of the beard with a pencil.

We cut out the beards from the fur with thin, pointed small scissors. You need to cut carefully, grabbing only the knitted fabric. And under no circumstances should you cut the fur. The fur pile should remain long at the edges and not trimmed.

We pin the beards to the faces of the gnomes with pins. Apply a thin layer of transparent glue to those places on the face where the beard will be glued. Glue the beard. Its lower part remains free.

Now we sew on our balls - noses. Several hand stitches. You can glue the nose.

Using red yarn we embroider cute smiles on our gnomes (you can have three different ones).

Cut the wire with a length equal to two lengths of the cap.

We pierce the gnome's head in the area of the crown with wire. Place the two ends of the wire together. Lightly twist them together.

We put the caps on top of the wire and now, using the wire, we give any configuration to the upper part of the caps. To prevent the caps from falling off the heads, we glue their lower parts (from the wrong side) directly to the head in several places.

Along the bottom of the body we embroider the trim with a cross using red yarn.

We sew or glue the legs to the bottom of the body.

To make bags, you need to take red fleece and fold it in two layers. Mark a rectangle 8cm x 13cm. Side fold.

We cut out three such rectangles without allowances.

We fold them lengthwise and pin them along the side and bottom edges.

We machine stitch the seams of the bags along the marked lines.

Turn the bags right side out. Lightly fill each bag with holofiber at the bottom.

We cut the wire for each bag, a length equal to two lengths of the bag.

We insert double folded pieces of wire into each bag. We tie them with twine.

We put a bag in the hands of each gnome. We sew it to the handles with several hand stitches. Using wire inside the bag, each bag can be bent to stabilize the gnome on legs. You can put a small weight in the bag so that the gnome does not fall.
