A place for mothers with children to open. How we created a club for young mothers. Yoga and health center in Yasenevo

Hello, mother country! I want to talk about something that is very close and dear to me, to share my experience, so to speak.
When I gave birth to my first child, I was sure that I would not stay at home for long and that in a couple of years I would go to work. I didn’t think about a second child at all, although I always wanted a daughter. When I became pregnant with my second child, the eldest was not yet two years old. And then I thought, because at least another 3-4 years will pass before I can go to work and in general among people. I have always been an active person, so while I was still pregnant with my daughter, I began to think about how I could spend these years so that I could be with my children constantly and find a use for my unbridled activity. It so happened that we never had grandmothers to help us. My parents live far away, my mother-in-law works, so I don’t know what it’s like to leave a child with someone.
One day a friend called (we have children the same age) and said that an experimental community of interests was being organized on the basis of one resource center, namely a club for young mothers. How it will function, what will be there and how - there was no information. But we were invited to a test drive to the botanical garden to get to know each other. The trip was organized very competently and professionally. There were about 10 of us mothers with children of different ages, some, including me, were also pregnant. We had a great time, a big excursion and a picnic were organized.
The project manager, Natalya Nikolaevna, said that at the resource center where she works, a club of interests will be organized specifically for young mothers with children for a pleasant and useful pastime. The goal of the project is communication, exchange of experience on various issues of raising children, organizing joint leisure time for young families, acquiring skills in applied arts, organizing sports events for children, organizing various competitive events for young families. To put it simply, the main goal of the project was to prove that young mothers with small children can also live a full life, be active, mobile, while constantly being with their children and bringing many ideas to life.
We were allocated a separate room (free of charge) where we could come with the children once a week for almost the whole day. I would like to note that all participants in the project did not know each other before the club began functioning. What were we doing there? The most important thing is that a playroom with sports equipment and toys was organized for the children. It was something like a kindergarten, the children were huddled together, playing, we were nearby, watching them, while our hands remained free.
In the first year of the club’s existence, a decoupage specialist, Galina Fedorovna, was invited to teach us everything she knew. Our day at the club goes something like this: we arrived early in the morning, prepared for the next decoupage lesson, and at the same time prepared tea and snacks so that the children could refresh themselves at any time. After a 3-hour lesson, the girls and I usually drank tea, chatted, relaxed, played with the children, and then we all went for a walk together. After the walk, everyone usually went home.
Needless to say, we all became very friendly and united. After a year of the club's existence, we wanted to develop. We began organizing social events to attract other families to our club. Several times we organized culinary competitions in which families competed with each other in preparing various dishes, organized sports events for children, and fun starts. We took part in charity events to raise money for the poor, and made things with our own hands to sell at charity sales fairs. And finally, we decided on the main thing - participation in a competition of projects from public organizations to receive a grant and the subsequent implementation of our project.
Our project was aimed at strengthening children's health by introducing children to sports and a healthy lifestyle. According to the project, we included in the estimate a visit to the children's pool with an individual trainer, outdoor sports events, visits to our huge zoo throughout the summer season, the organization of the work of a speech therapist, a family psychologist on issues of raising children and intra-family relationships, as well as courses in knitting, stained glass and decoupage for mommies. Our joy knew no bounds when we won this grant and were able to bring this project to life.
Over the course of 4 months, we did everything we had in mind - we took the children to the pool, organized a large-scale trip to a summer camp for several days to hold sporting events for children, constantly went to the zoo (our zoo is located in a huge forested area where you can spend the whole day with children and family), an invited speech therapist conducted individual lessons with each child, the lessons with a psychologist were very good, both individual and group. And of course, the mothers received additional skills in classes in knitting, decoupage and stained glass.
Now, after the end of the project, we returned to the usual functioning of the club, we also met once a week, but no longer organized classes, and everyone did their own thing - some knitted, some painted, some could simply relax from household chores and spend time with friends. Every holiday, be it New Year, someone's birthday, Mother's Day, etc., we make sure to arrange a big holiday for ourselves and our children. I want to say that throughout the existence of the club, the composition of the participants was constantly changing, new mothers with children came, old ones left and organized their own clubs..

Here is a short photo report from our club

Our first meeting, a trip to the botanical garden

Coworking "Mom Works"

A new place where you can come with your child and still work full-time. For many mothers, you must admit, this used to be an unaffordable luxury. In the “Mom Works” space there is, most importantly, a children’s room and a teacher, wireless Internet, office equipment, full-fledged workstations and free parking at the office.

Coworking is open from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 13.00 at the address: st. Nizhnyaya Pervomaiskaya, 48/9.

An hour of work, depending on the tariff, will cost from 175 to 300 rubles.

Space for moms Kidsterra

This unusual cozy place combines many functions: coworking space, anikafé, offline meeting place, space for performances, master classes and beauty days, a showroom for newfangled children's brands (from beds to dresses). Key idea: mothers who want to have a place to realize their ideas gather here. There is a children's room, an animator or nanny works periodically, you can organize birthdays and parties.

Kidsterra is located at Nizhnyaya Syromyatnicheskaya 10/3, in “ARTPLAY”, so there is an opportunity to get involved in art at the same time. For example, children are very warm towards interactive exhibitions.

Concerts for mothers and children “Together with Mom”

When a child is born, many parents suddenly realize that for at least the next three years the path to classical, and especially chamber music, concerts is closed to them. Of course, there are unique children who are ready to sit in the Great Hall of the Conservatory for two hours without making a single sound, but this is the exception rather than the rule. For those who are not ready to give up music and who want to introduce their children to this art form, there are special projects. One of them is “Together with Mom.” Thanks to its organizers, adults can come to concerts of music of various genres and genres, even with the smallest children. The space is organized very democratically: dancing, singing along, running, playing, standing, sitting, lying down and doing anything is allowed. A huge plus: the child perceives music without comments or prohibitions, can be inspired and express himself.

Concerts of this kind are organized by many organizations, for example, the WowBaby club near Troitsk is distinguished by its love of nature and in the warm season holds outdoor concerts in an ecologically clean forest village. Other concerts are held at the Concertini and Babyconcert centers

Developmental center for mothers and babies Mama’s Place

Mama’s Place clubs are located in popular places in the capital: a creative space in the building of the Educational Center of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and a space dedicated to books and reading in Sokolniki Park. There is a total child-friendly atmosphere here, you can choose activities for yourself and your child to your liking. The main thing is that mothers have their own “developmental activities”, such as yoga, painting, master classes on creating interior items and toys.

Healthy lifestyle for those who always have a baby with them: dancing with Baby Contact

Many mothers want to return to a healthy lifestyle and exercise as quickly as possible, but this is not as easy as it seems, especially if there is no one to leave the child with. For such a case, smart people came up with fitness for children, baby yoga, sling dancing and other similar activities. The mother not only engages in physical activity, but also develops the baby. Activities like these help you have fun, bond, and lose those extra pounds.

An extraordinary approach to the issues of a healthy lifestyle, namely dancing for adults and children, more precisely, for adults with children, can be found at Baby Contact.

The main task of such classes is to establish contact with the child, learn to understand and feel him. Without children from 3 months to 3 years old, you are unlikely to be allowed into such classes. But those who attend the classes will be able to try a unique technique that allows you to establish a connection with children through movements.

Magazine Reconomica spoke many times about various business ideas aimed at a specific target audience. These could be people of a specific profession, children, young families, lovers of sweets, etc. The success of such businesses lies in correctly identifying the needs of a particular category of potential clients and skillfully satisfying them.

My name is Janna. I recently turned 29 years old. I am married and the mother of two beautiful children. We live in the city of Kazan.

After the birth of my second child, it was difficult for me to regain my physical shape. I gave birth by caesarean section, and my body took a long time to recover. The kilograms did not go away, but only added.

The birth of an idea

At a certain period, I began to weigh the same as I weighed in the last stages of pregnancy. On the day when the scale showed a terrifying number, I decided to lose weight.

I attended several nutrition courses and took up fitness through an app on my phone, because I didn’t have time or opportunity to go to the gym. She could rarely leave her children with her husband, because he came home from work very tired.

I managed to lose weight and get into great shape in 4 months. And then an idea was born: rent a room and teach fitness classes for mothers on maternity leave.

I managed to lose weight and get into great shape in 4 months.

Search for a hall

We live in a new complex, where most of my neighbors and residents of nearby houses are mothers with 1-2 children. I was sure it was a win-win situation. Among the offers for physical activity, in our area, there was only a gym (but this is not the same: there is no live communication, not everyone can afford a personal trainer).

I rented a small room on the ground floor of a neighboring house, a dance studio had just moved out of there, and there were large mirrors on the walls - just what I needed. The rent cost me 8 thousand rubles.

Unique fitness club

In parallel with the search for a gym, I began searching for women who wanted to lose weight. I posted ads on Avito, posted and scattered in mailboxes messages printed out from my husband at work about the opening of a unique fitness club for mothers with children.

The emphasis was on the fact that women will be able to come to training with their children; a special area will be equipped for this.

I also created a group on VK, invited everyone who was a friend to it, and asked everyone to add to the group those who might be interested in my proposal. There were quite a few such people, most of them were from our area. It turned out that I had hit the nail on the head. Many mothers did not have assistants, and they happily accepted invitations to a trial lesson.

Preparing for the opening

The opening was scheduled for early February. The required number of people willing to study was recruited. Additionally, I created a What’s app group where I added girls who planned to attend classes. She stirred up interest and shared her knowledge gained in nutrition courses. Participation in this group was free. In this way I tried to retain potential clients while I was buying equipment and equipment for work. Everything was purchased within a week.

For fitness:

  • mats for activities;
  • dumbbells of different weights;
  • jump ropes;
  • a large portable speaker to create a groovy mood;
  • nice shape for me.

For the children's area:

  • 2 children's tables and 4 chairs from Ikea;
  • soft floor;
  • playhouse and fence;
  • ball pool.

I brought the rest of the toys from home.

The best help was the free trial lesson.

Training program

Everything was ready for the opening, as I thought. I chose a date, ordered a lot of balloons, and decorated the entrance with them. I wrote about the opening date in the group, updated the ad on Avito, bought advertising in two groups on VKontakte and in one popular Instagram account.

As for the training program, it was easy to create them:

  1. I’ve been working out through the Nike app for six months now - there were many options for different muscle groups.
  2. My mother has been working as a fitness trainer for 25 years. I knew almost everything about the course of the classes.

Opening and development of a fitness club

The opening went well. More than 40 people came to the first, trial and free lesson. I divided them into three groups and distributed them by hours, but on one day, so that it would be convenient for me to talk to each, pay enough attention and convince them to continue classes on a paid basis.

According to my plans, the commercial group was supposed to be launched 2 days after the opening. And I was able to do it. Of course, only 8 people came to study for money, but at first it was a great achievement for me. Moreover, the amount received covered my rental expenses.

Seasonality of business

Then there was more, I left advertising on social networks, paid a couple of times a month. The best help was the free trial lesson. I hired a high school girl from the next door to look after the kids while the mothers were studying.

Children's area in the fitness club.

After 3 months, 2 groups of 12 people were recruited (morning and evening). Another month later there were 3 groups. The total number of participants was 30 people at the end of May 2018. Then there was summer - a period of vacations, barbecues, dachas. And my girls left and ran away. There was only one working group left, the number of participants varied from 6 to 10 over the three summer months.

In September there was an influx again. Now I already lead 3 groups: 1 morning and 2 evening. So, spending only 1.5-2 hours a day, I do something beneficial for my body and earn good money for my mother on maternity leave.

So the numbers

Opening costs:

  1. Rent - 8,000 rubles.
  2. Helium balloons - 1,500 rubles.
  3. Gym equipment (20 mats, 10 sets of dumbbells, 10 fitness ropes, column and uniform) - 20 × 300 + 10 × 300 + 10 × 250 + 3,000 + 3,000 = 17,500 rubles.
  4. Setting up the children's corner cost me about 20,000.

Total: 47,000 rubles spent at the beginning of the journey.

The cost of classes is 2,000. The first month I received 16,000 and immediately paid half to rent the hall for the next month. In April I earned 48,000, at the end of May - 60,000 rubles. During the summer months I barely had enough money to pay rent.

At the moment, my stable income, minus rent and nanny fees (300 rubles per day), is about 48-52 thousand rubles.

There are situations when the best solution is to simply include your child in the training.

  1. To start a business in the fitness industry, you need to have good health, excellent physical data, a beautiful figure (if a person cannot achieve a beautiful body himself, then what can he teach others).
  2. If you want to earn extra money as a fitness trainer, you must be able to win people over and find contact with different types of personalities. You must motivate to achieve results - clients must want to become like you. Be open, kind, but demanding.
  3. The more varied the training, the more interest you will generate. Boring and monotonous activities will not bring success, because they can be found at every step, even on the Internet.
  4. Develop yourself, if you can’t travel and visit fitness forums (like me), look for and watch video broadcasts of these forums, video lessons from leading fitness instructors, look for ideas and bring them to life.
  5. Location matters a lot. If you open a studio in an area where only retirees live, then the chances of success will be less. Although opening a specialized school “Fitness over 60” is also an idea.
  6. The fitness industry involves and. It will be great if you can give competent advice to your clients: what to refuse, what to focus on, what foods can be eaten in unlimited quantities, and what should be forgotten forever.

Business difficulties

What you will most likely encounter:

  1. Fear of speaking in public: if you have it, you need to fight it.
  2. Powerful competition, because in big cities there are a huge number of offers in this industry.
  3. Seasonality of attendance.
  4. Rent increases.
  5. Children's reluctance to sit still. Depending on the age, you need to look for an approach to children, sometimes it simply does not exist and only the mother is needed - this is the cost of fitness with a child. There are situations when the best solution is to simply include your child in the training. It all depends on your imagination. And it’s better to choose an experienced and lively nanny.

The main driving force is belief in yourself and your success.

I hope that my experience will be useful to the reader.

The main driving force is belief in yourself and your success. It’s worth looking at your life from a different angle, and perhaps your option for making money is right in front of your nose.

In my case, the lever was the second pregnancy and lack of help from relatives. It was necessary to get out, and so far it has worked.

So, this is a pressing topic, I think, for many mothers. For the last five months I have been sitting at home all the time, because there is no one to leave the baby with, and my husband works all the time. Naturally, we go outside, walk in the park, but the soul... the soul requires rock and roll. Okay, maybe not rock and roll, but at least some variety without ugliness! 🙂 In general, I decided to make a list of places where you can do yoga with a child of any age :)
