Permanent eyebrow makeup shading how long does it last? Eyebrow tattooing using soft shading technique: what is it and who is it suitable for. Reviews of shadow eyebrow shading

Soft shadow tattooing began to be used relatively recently. By performing soft shading, you can achieve a surprisingly natural result. In this case, there are no strict contours, as a result of which permanent makeup resembles that done with a pencil or shadows. In this case, the shading can be quite dense or lighter. In any case, a professional master will give you a natural and attractive result.

Any specialist strives to achieve the most natural makeup possible. The shading technique, which can safely be called a classic solution, is especially popular. Thanks to its use, it is possible to tint a certain area or the entire surface of the eyebrows.

This permanent lasts about 3 years. After a certain time, the dye fades due to the renewal of the upper layer of the epidermis. In such a situation, correction is indicated.

Which method to choose

Many girls are interested in which method is better - shading or hair technique. In the first case, it is possible to obtain the clearest and brightest result. This technique is great for girls who have no hair or need to significantly change their appearance.

With the correct shape of the eyebrows, but not too many hairs, shading is done with a subtle haze. This option is ideal for those with medium-width eyebrows.

This technique is great for all skin types. It can last for about 3 years, and sometimes longer. It depends on the individual characteristics and age of the woman.

Hair permanent is considered a comparatively new method. It helps restore missing hairs. Thanks to this, it is possible to achieve the most natural and attractive result.

The only disadvantage of the hair technique is the lack of durability of makeup. After about six months or a year, the pigment begins to spread. In such a situation, correction is required.

Also, it is better not to use the hair method for those with oily skin.

Execution technology

This type of tattoo includes a number of stages, each of which requires special attention. Only in this case will it be possible to obtain an attractive and neat result. So, to apply the pigment, the master must perform the following actions:

  1. Drawing a sketch. At this stage, the artist uses a pencil or shadow to apply the future shape of the eyebrows. It is important to take into account the client’s age, eye shape, and appearance features.
  2. Hair removal. At this stage, you need to get rid of the hairs that protrude beyond the boundaries of the applied sketch.
  3. Corrective touches. At this stage, the master corrects the shape, after which he applies the finishing touches with a marker.
  4. Pigmentation. After approving the sketch, the line designer begins to apply the dye using a machine. The color should match the shade of the eyes, skin and hair. This stage is considered the most difficult and responsible, since the master needs to achieve blurriness of the dye. To do this, he applies the pigment in several layers.
  5. Healing. After completing all stages of shading, you can evaluate the result not immediately, but only after a week. On the first day after the procedure, eyebrows look unnatural. The appearance of a crust makes them brighter. Subsequently, it will come off and permanent makeup will acquire a normal appearance.

Post-procedure care

Immediately after the procedure, the eyebrows have a very bright color, swelling and redness. After 3 days, these symptoms usually go away. The desired shade appears after a certain time, when the pigment is fixed in the skin. Therefore, experts recommend performing the permanent on weekends or during vacation.

After the session is completed, the eyebrows are covered with antiseptic agents. Medicines should be applied to the treated area with gentle movements, using cotton swabs. At this time, a thin crust of ichor appears on the skin.

If there is severe skin tightness, it is recommended to treat it with a nourishing cream. The healing process takes approximately 7-9 days. You can evaluate the final result only after all the crusts have come off. During this period it is strictly prohibited:

  • sunbathe;
  • go swimming;
  • lubricate eyebrows with cream or apply decorative cosmetics.

Contraindications

There are quite a few restrictions on performing this procedure. Thus, permanent makeup is not recommended if you have the following problems:

  • diabetes;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • pregnancy;
  • lactation;
  • decreased blood clotting;
  • allergic reactions to pigments;
  • chronic pathologies.

To make eyebrow tattooing using the shading method look attractive, it is very important to contact an experienced artist. The quality of the pigments and the devices used is of no small importance. Only by complying with these conditions will it be possible to obtain a beautiful permanent.

Girls who are going to get eyebrow tattooing experience a number of difficulties: they need to mentally prepare and tune in, choose a salon, artist, color and shape of future eyebrows. But it’s even more difficult to decide on the technique permanent makeup, because there are more and more of them. If you are already interested in shadow shading and are inclined to choose it, it would be nice to know all the nuances and subtleties of the procedure in advance.

What it is

Classic tattooing can rarely be made natural. At best, it appears as if paint or a bright cosmetic pencil was applied to the eyebrows. The shadow technique makes the drawing natural, so those around you won’t even think that you made a permanent one.

The cosmetologist fills the sketch with pigment not evenly, but pointwise, so the effect of coloring with shadows is obtained. After healing, a shaded pattern of a pre-selected shape appears on the skin. The dots are only visible upon closer inspection.

Expert commentary

To get the result, you definitely need to mix shades, because the same color will look different on different people. We have our own 4 skin tones, there are individual characteristics that can affect the original color.

The same result can be achieved using the manual method of tattooing - microshading. To apply dots, they do not use an automatic machine, but a regular handpiece with a needle at the end. The master manually adjusts the degree of pressure and does not injure the skin by treating the same area several times. Microshading is considered less traumatic compared to classic permanent.

Who is it suitable for?

The natural look of eyebrows suits all girls, and the best tattoo is considered to be the one that no one knows about. The shadow technique of permanent makeup is used in the following cases:

  1. The natural shape of the eyebrows suits you, but it needs to be made more neat and the hairs need to be thicker.
  2. You need to radically change the shape of your eyebrows or create a pattern in place of completely plucked hairs.
  3. It is necessary to fill the space where hairs do not naturally grow.
  4. The hair is light and brittle, which is why there is a constant need to make it thicker with cosmetics.
  5. There are scars on the skin that need to be camouflaged.
  6. Eyebrows differ in shade from hair.

The shadow permanent is universal; it can be done by girls with different eyebrow thicknesses. The inner corner becomes more pronounced, the correct bend is formed, and the too short “tail” lengthens. The look becomes expressive, creating the effect of open eyes.

Using the shadow technique of eyebrow tattooing, you can correct another permanent. If the result of the previous session leaves much to be desired, it can be disguised under small shaded dots. They will cover up an unsuccessful pattern, making it softer and more natural.

Permanent makeup with shadow effect lasts 2-3 years. If the skin does not accept the pigment, the pattern may disappear after six months, and sometimes it lasts up to 5 years. It all depends on the type of skin, compliance with the rules for caring for it and the number of corrections. Microshading lasts less - only 1-2 years, since the punctures are not made so deep and the pigment is removed faster.

Tools and materials

For classic tattooing, an automatic machine with attachments of different thicknesses is used. There are several models of permanent equipment that differ in power and frequency of needle movements. This does not affect the result, but for all clients different types skin - hence the difference.

To apply the design, the master uses a regular attachment and a shading attachment. The first is to make dots on the skin, the second is to create an imitation of shadows. The cosmetologist must remove both needles in the presence of the client to show that they are sterile.

Expert commentary

Under no circumstances should a master work with needles from Aliexpress, but unfortunately, some people buy them. It is not clear whether these needles are generally sterile, where they were made, who walked on them, what shovels were used to collect them...

If microshading is done, then a hand-held device similar to a fountain pen is used. The nozzle ends with one or more needles arranged in a row. They should also be disposable.

The same pigments are used for hardware and manual permanents. They differ in shade and release form - liquid, gel, powder or cream. The ease of application, durability of the pattern and the speed of color fading depend on this. It is important that there is no allergy to the paint, so at the preliminary consultation the master must conduct a test.

The cosmetologist must wear disposable medical gloves and a mask. Painkillers, degreasing agents and disinfectants are used to treat the skin. To make the design symmetrical, sometimes cosmetologists use eyebrow stencils, but it is better if the artist selects the shape individually.

Preparation rules

The session is not carried out at the first appointment with a cosmetologist. This time is scheduled for a consultation, during which the master will select the shape of the eyebrows, the shade of pigment, find out about the presence of contraindications, and talk about possible side effects.

In order for the tattoo to go according to plan, you need to follow some rules before the procedure:

  1. Do not sunbathe for two weeks.
  2. Do not take blood thinning medications, such as Aspirin, for a week.
  3. Stop drinking drinks containing alcohol or caffeine for 2-3 days.
  4. Do not drink strong drinks on the eve of the session. green tea and don't eat ginger.
  5. Do not use decorative cosmetics, scrubs and peelings 2-3 days before the procedure.
  6. Do not pluck your eyebrows for a week before your session.

It is better to schedule the procedure at the beginning or middle menstrual cycle, since during these periods the pain threshold increases. During tattooing, the artist applies anesthesia, but discomfort will still arise, so it is better to take care to make the procedure more comfortable.

How it goes

During the application of permanent makeup, the client lies on the couch so that the head is fixed in one position. The procedure itself takes place in several stages:

  1. The skin is degreased with a cosmetic product.
  2. The selected sketch is applied with a soft pencil.
  3. Disinfectant is applied.
  4. Excess hairs are plucked out.
  5. Anesthesia is used in the form of a cream, solution or spray.
  6. Dots are applied to the skin with a thin needle, then the artist must shade them with another nozzle.
  7. 10-15 minutes after completing the drawing, a healing agent is applied.

The whole procedure takes 1.5-2 hours. The bulk of the time is spent preparing the skin and drawing the sketch. Immediately after the session, the eyebrows will look unnaturally bright, but the pigment will soon take on the desired shade. During tattooing, the artist deliberately uses more paint than necessary, since it takes root only 40-60%.

Contraindications

Since the skin is damaged during tattooing, the procedure is considered invasive. It cannot be carried out if the following restrictions exist:

  • hemophilia;
  • diabetes;
  • hepatitis;
  • infectious diseases;
  • moles and other formations in the eyebrow area;
  • dermatological diseases;
  • pregnancy;
  • breastfeeding period;
  • period of menstruation;
  • fresh tan;
  • age less than 18 years.

A reputable clinic will ask you about each of these restrictions. Based on this criterion, you can already choose a suitable master who does not neglect important details.

Advantages and disadvantages

Shadow tattooing turns out to be one of the most natural, in this only the hair method can compete with it. It seems that the eyebrows are painted, but only slightly. This makeup goes well with both the office dress code and casual clothes, and with a festive style. Unlike a solid application of pigment, imitation shadows do not look too bright.

The advantage of this technique is that it injures the skin to a lesser extent, since the needle applies the pigment not evenly, but in a targeted manner. Even when the master shades the pigment, the sensations will not be too painful. For the same reason, the drawing after such a permanent usually heals faster.

Even if the result is not what you would like, it is easy to fix. During the correction, the master will mask all the errors that will not be visible, since the paint was applied in separate dots.

Specifically, the shadow method of eyebrow tattooing has no disadvantages - only the procedure as a whole has them. If the technician does not take safety precautions seriously enough, there is a possibility of infection. It will not only provoke unpleasant symptoms, but also ruin the result.

Due to the fact that the needle heats the tissue when puncturing, there is a chance of damaging the hair follicles, so natural eyebrows will become sparse and brittle. You will either have to apply a new permanent immediately after the previous one comes off, or constantly use decorative cosmetics.

Skin care

After the session, the skin will turn red and swell, and ichor will be released. After 2-3 days this will pass, but a crust will form at the site of the wounds. It cannot be torn off, because the skin is being restored underneath it.

To speed up regeneration, you need to treat the drawing with a healing agent recommended by the cosmetologist. To prevent infection, an antiseptic must be applied to the skin.

During recovery, you should not sunbathe, use decorative cosmetics, or use scrubs and peels. It is not advisable to get your eyebrows wet, but you should also not cover them with a band-aid during water procedures. You cannot visit the swimming pool, bathhouse, sauna or beach for a month.

Unsuccessful result

If the rules for skin care were not followed, or the specialist was not very experienced, then the pigment may lie unevenly or change the shade to green or blue. In negative reviews you can often find photos with similar results. To correct the color or shape of the pattern, you need to wait until the skin has completely healed. A month after the session, a correction is made, during which all the shortcomings are corrected.

If the result is not at all satisfactory, then the drawing can be reduced. This will take several months, since several procedures are needed, between which there is a break. Typically, tattoos are removed by laser, cryotherapy or electrocoagulation.

If in doubt

Tattooing must be done by a professional with a certificate. The procedure takes place in a clinic that has received a license for such activities. During the session, the cosmetologist must wear disposable gloves and a mask, and the needles are removed from a closed package. If at least one of the conditions is not met, it is better to find another makeup artist. And you definitely shouldn’t do permanent at home.

This type of eyebrow tattooing is used for permanent coloring to achieve a “pencil effect”. The emphasis is not on drawing hairs, but on smooth shading of the pattern. The purpose of the shadow technique is to give the eyebrows visual volume and a rich shade.

Eyebrow tattooing with shading - what is it? Distinctive features of this technique

As you know, tattooing is a procedure for introducing a permanent pigment under the skin, which allows you to temporarily abandon the use of decorative cosmetics and visually correct external imperfections. Permanent makeup using the shading method does not involve drawing hairs. Here you can make a gradient transition from a darker shade to a lighter one (ombre technique) or use several shades at once. The result is that after the procedure no one will doubt that the client’s eyebrows are natural.

Types of tattoo using shading technique:

  • Soft shading. Used to visually give eyebrows extra thickness. The procedure is performed using a hardware method, and during its execution the master can change the intensity of pigment introduction.
  • (or dense shading). This method involves implanting pigment either using a machine or manually - using a special tool in the form of a pen. The dense filling of the pigment gives the eyebrows additional thickness without creating an unnatural effect. At first, dark pigments were used for this procedure, roughly painting over the hairs along the entire perimeter of the sketch. As a result, the contours of women's eyebrows looked unnatural, more like a tattoo on shaved skin. With time this technique has been improved, and today it uses shades close to the natural color of the eyebrows. Later, other subtypes of dense shading appeared - for example, pin up.

The following photo collage will show how the shading technique differs from the standard hair method.

The technique of tattooing with shading is ideal in the following cases:

  • if you need to give your eyebrows additional thickness and volume;
  • if it is necessary to paint over gray hairs;
  • if you are looking to recreate a natural effect.

If you want to make not only your eyebrows more expressive, but your entire face, you can do it.

The “shaded” tattoo technique imitates pencil tinting of eyebrows. It will suit both blondes and those with dark hair. The result of the procedure is beautiful wide eyebrows, as if they had just been lined with decorative cosmetics.

Important! The pigment is selected so that it is darker than the hair color by more than two tones. Brunettes are advised to choose dark brown shades and should avoid black dyes. If you are planning, then it is recommended to take an eyebrow pigment of the same shade, but half a tone lighter.

What will be the result of this type of tattooing are shown in photos before and after the procedure.

Contraindications and restrictions

The tattoo procedure is not performed during pregnancy and lactation, as well as during the menstrual period. An allergy to the components of the dye may also be a reason to refuse permanent makeup, which, however, is extremely rare.

Medical contraindications:

  • acute infectious, endocrinological and dermatological diseases, AIDS;
  • herpes;
  • tuberculosis;
  • epilepsy;
  • blood clotting disorder;
  • tendency to form keloid scars.

Seasonal restrictions

Tattooing is not recommended in summer: high air temperatures, active sunlight and increased concentrations of dust in the air will irritate the healing skin. This complicates its recovery process and creates an additional risk of infection.

Step-by-step description of the procedure

Stage one - preparatory

24 hours before visiting the specialist, stop taking antibiotics and blood thinners. Do not drink strong tea, coffee or alcoholic beverages. In addition, you should not sunbathe the day before.

Important! Tattoo pigment is not applied to “bald” eyebrows, so you cannot shave them off before the procedure. A qualified artist will not ask you to shave your hair before tattooing.

Stage two - salon

In total, the procedure takes 1.5-2 hours. First, the master discusses a new eyebrow design with the client and then proceeds to draw up his sketch, after pre-treating the skin with a disinfectant.

Next, an anesthetic application is applied. The specialist lubricates the skin with anesthetic cream and covers the treatment area with film. The anesthetic will take effect in 20 minutes, and now you can proceed directly to tattooing.

The introduction of pigment lasts about 1 hour. During the procedure, the master uses disposable replacement needles.

The final stage is wiping the skin with an antiseptic (for example, chlorhexidine) and applying a wound-healing cream.

The following video will show you how the permanent makeup procedure is performed using the shading technique.

Does it hurt or not?

All painful sensations are muffled due to preliminary anesthesia. Clients with hypersensitive skin feel slight discomfort, but note that the procedure is quite tolerable.

Eyebrows immediately after the procedure look brighter than planned: this is normal. Slight redness or swelling may occur, which should subside within the next 24 hours.

Ideally, tattooed eyebrows look like this:

How to care for eyebrows after a tattoo session

During the recovery period, it is necessary to smear the area where the pigment was introduced with a wound-healing ointment (the most common are “D-panthenol”, “Bepanten” or “Rescuer”). The master who performed the tattoo procedure is obliged to advise the client about further home care and recommend specific products.

What not to do during the rehabilitation period:

  • use decorative cosmetics;
  • expose your skin to ultraviolet radiation - sunbathe on the beach or in a solarium;
  • go to the bathhouse, sauna and swimming pool;
  • wet the area where the pigment is introduced;
  • wipe the skin with alcohol-containing or bleaching agents;
  • exercise (excessive sweating is harmful to unhealed skin).

The above prohibitions apply during the first week after the procedure, while healing of the epidermal tissue continues.

Rehabilitation period with gradation by days

On the first day, redness and swelling of the tissues are observed, and pain is possible. From the areas treated with a needle, ichor is released, which later dries out and turns into a crust. On the second day, the skin irritation goes away, but the eyebrow shade still remains excessively bright.

On about the third day, crusts form. During the healing period, they serve as a natural protection for the skin from external influences.

The crust disappears approximately 7 days after the procedure. To speed up this process, regularly lubricate your eyebrows with restorative ointment.

What to do if the crusts are cracked?

This means that the skin is very dry and needs to be moisturized. Systematic application of ointment (D-panthenol or Bepanten) will soften the crusts. Under no circumstances should you pull them or tear them off yourself: a side effect will be damage to the skin and uneven distribution of pigment.

On average, the rehabilitation period takes 7 days. However, the final result will appear after 2 weeks. Then the saturation of the introduced pigment will decrease, and the eyebrows will no longer look unnaturally bright.

The following photo will show you what eyebrows look like before healing and after the rehabilitation period.

Is correction necessary?

Carrying out correction 1-1.5 months after a tattoo session is a common practice. Its necessity is due to the fact that during the first application the pigment may color the eyebrows unevenly. A repeated procedure, if necessary, will change their shade and correct their shape.

In addition, correction is an additional opportunity to enhance the “pencil effect” or create a “spraying” of eyebrows using color shading.

How long does a tattoo with shading last?

The durability of the tattoo depends on the method of its implementation. So, classic shading will last at least 2 years. The fixation of pigment is influenced by both external factors (climate, frequency of exposure to the sun) and individual characteristics (age, skin type).

How long does shading last using manual technique?

Since the pigment is injected shallowly under the skin, the resulting effect lasts from 6 months to 1.5 years. Next, the client will need to undergo a correction procedure.

The quality of a dye is determined not so much by its durability, but by the quality of its composition. Certified pigments will not cause an allergic reaction and will not change color after many months of use. Low-quality materials (in some cases, artists may use tattoo dye) tend to give the eyebrows a bluish or reddish tint over time. Moreover, only a laser can correct such a defect.

Compatible with other procedures

Injection procedures (Botox, hyaluronic acid fillers)

Tattooing should be carried out no earlier than 3 weeks after completion. If you have already had Botox injections, be sure to consult with the cosmetologist who performed the procedure before starting permanent makeup.

Chemical peeling

The use of exfoliants negatively affects the durability of the pigment. However, if the client has an urgent need, he should wait at least 2 weeks after the tattoo session.

Is it possible to dye eyebrows after tattooing?

After tattooing you can. The main thing is to wait until the skin has completely healed (at least 10 days).

Conclusion. Pros and cons of shading techniques

The good thing about this type of tattoo is that after the procedure, the eyebrows look natural and not pretentious. The disadvantages include the cost of the service and the risk of choosing an unscrupulous specialist.

What kind of eyebrow tattoo can be considered successful and how to make it so? The right choice of method, nuances of eyebrow care and small tricks will help you get the desired result. In this article I will talk in detail about how tattooing is done correctly, how to choose color and intensity, and what happens to it during the healing and wearing process.

Types of eyebrow tattoo

I won’t throw around salon terms like 3D tattooing, shoting, and the like here. If you look at eyebrow tattooing, which can be found not on salon websites, but on the faces of real people, we will see only three options:

What you should know about tattoo hygiene

When going for eyebrow tattooing, you should pay attention not only to the artist’s portfolio (although this is also very important in order not to get it), but above all to his cleanliness and accuracy. The needle (handle) you are using must be removed from the package in front of you, which guarantees its sterility. The master works in gloves, and the client’s area is covered with a disposable sheet. The table itself with tattoo accessories should also not look like an impressionist’s easel - it should be clean and nothing superfluous, only a machine, pigments, cotton pads and swabs, painkillers and antiseptics. The pigment must be poured from the jar into the mixing container with you! So that it is not leftover paint from a previous client. If you notice any deviations from this norm in the master, do not be afraid to seem boring, point out to him his negligence or uncleanliness, Your health depends on it!

Choosing a color for eyebrow tattooing

In this article I show two colors done to me at different times (note that the eyebrows themselves are painted in different colors):

  1. Neutral (even closer to cold), darker, therefore applied loosely, designed for the fact that I will wear my natural hair color (brown)
  2. Warm, reddish, lighter and denser - when I finally dyed my favorite red color.

Eyebrow tattoo color can be anything, usually it is selected according to hair color, natural color eyebrows, but other options are possible. In my case, I color my eyebrows for tattooing, and not vice versa.

The density of application, that is, the number of punctures, can also be different. The lighter the pigment, the more tightly it needs to be “driven in”, otherwise it will not be noticeable at all. A competent and experienced master will always help you choose the right color and intensity, and looking at the pigment, you may sometimes be afraid that it is too bright or dark. Here you should understand that on the skin after healing it will look completely different.

Another important point - on different people the same pigment can give different eyebrow tattoo colors- in brightness and tone. This depends on your own skin color, as well as its ability to “absorb” pigment. Therefore, if you see a tattoo on a friend and want the exact same one, don’t scold the artist if it doesn’t work out, because sometimes it’s simply impossible to do.

And the most important thing to know about pigments when choosing a color is how they fade! I will talk about this in detail below.

How to do eyebrow tattooing with shading

Rehabilitation after eyebrow tattoo

Do not expect that you will become a beauty immediately after the procedure. Most likely, you will look like a freak with brightly smeared wide “sausages” over your eyes, and you will have to sit at home for several days or hide your eyebrows under your bangs, if you have them.

This happens because initially you will have too much pigment, most of which will come off in the next week along with the crusts.

Besides, you won't be able to cover up this horror with concealer or even powder, because within a week you will have to wipe your eyebrows with chlorhexidine and apply ointment to them to heal. Therefore, unlike, which can be worn during the healing process without causing an inappropriate reaction from others, you will have to hide your eyebrow tattoo at this stage. Choose a time for the procedure so that you have a few free days left.

Here's how eyebrow tattooing with shading heals:

Day 1. Immediately after tattooing, my eyebrows look too bright and thick, as if I painted on myself with a felt-tip pen.

Day 2. Maximum swelling, feeling of eyebrows “falling” into the eyes. Crusts begin to form - the surface of the tattooed skin becomes rough, but still has a uniform color.

Day 3. The contour narrows a little, tightens, and crusts form. This is what it looks like to try to cover them up with foundation (corrector) in order to go outside and not scare people. It’s very poor in my opinion, so it’s better to stay at home:

Day 4. The crusts come off. Unevenly, in pieces, very noticeable.

Day 5. The scabs are almost gone, the color of the eyebrow tattoo is visible, but it is not final yet - it is too bright.

After 2 weeks - the final result without correction. That is, what happened on the eyebrows after the first tattoo procedure. Correction can be made if desired, but I do not see the need for this.

Eyebrow care after tattooing required during the first week:

  1. Wipe eyebrows with chlorhexidine 2 times a day;
  2. Apply baby cream (after chlorhexidine) 2 times a day in a thin layer;
  3. Starting from the fifth day, apply Bepanthen for 1-2 weeks (if necessary, if regeneration is slow).
Why I refused microblading

Microblading is now at the peak of popularity, as it is believed to give the most natural effect. You are simply “pinned” with hairs where they are missing. On the Internet you can find a lot of “before and after” photos that are really pleasing to the eye and make you want to give yourself the same eyebrows.

What's the catch? Yes, when tattooing eyebrows (even with shading), the “before and after” photo looks scary due to the fact that immediately after the procedure the eyebrows are not at all the same as in the healed state. But after complete healing, clients rarely present their tattoo to the artists so that they can photograph the final result.

In microblading, it’s the other way around – the “before and immediately after” photos look gorgeous, because the scars from the influx of lymph contract during the procedure, the pigment in them turns into the finest hair, and it all looks great. But several times I have seen microblading on girls that is not a couple of days old, but a year old. And this is where the whole problem is - the pigment under the skin spreads, ceases to “represent” a thin hair and becomes more like a tousled thread. The master most likely will not show you this for obvious reasons. However, having seen enough of such “effects”, I decided that nothing better than ordinary eyebrow tattooing with shading has yet been invented.

About pigments for eyebrow tattooing

When we choose the color of pigment for eyebrow tattooing, we are often guided only by whether it suits us at the moment. However, there are two things to think about:

Here's what happened (in the second version with red, it was also done, so there is swelling):

A post shared by Olga Lisa (@okosmeo) on Oct 29, 2017 at 5:42am PDT

As you can see in the photo, my tattoo is as close as possible to the way I usually paint my eyebrows - almost imperceptibly, barely (I don’t like plaster on my face). According to the master, it will last about a year and a half, then correction will be needed. But during this time, fashion may change, my attitude towards eyebrow tattooing with shading, or hair color again, so I won’t promise an article about a repeat procedure. Otherwise, I was quite satisfied with the result; later I will add a photo of the color change as the pigment fades.

The unobtrusive shadow technique of eyebrow tattooing began to be used relatively recently. The main rule of this method is the complete absence of clear contours. After the procedure, the eyebrows take on a well-groomed appearance, as if they had been lightly tinted with a pencil.

The shading technique allows you to tattoo eyebrows either intensely dense or more softly shaded, but with the most natural result.

With the right eyebrow color and shape, your face looks younger and more well-groomed. There are a large number of photos posted on the Internet in which you can see the effect created and compare photos before and after shadow tattooing.

The artist works on certain areas of the eyebrows more intensely, using a dark shade, and other areas less sharply, using a light pigment.

Eyebrow tattooing performed using the shadow shading technique is no less painstaking method than others. In this case, careful selection of the correct shades of pigments and step-by-step application are required.

The most popular option, taking into account reviews, is soft shading, with a light haze effect, suitable for almost everyone. The absence of clear contours allows the shape to be adjusted once every 2-3 years.

The shading technique allows you to solve several problems at once:

  • Emphasize the natural shape of the eyebrows by slightly adjusting their shape;
  • Create a new correct bend;
  • Dramatically change the shape;
  • Create the visual effect of thicker eyebrows if the hairs grow unevenly or are too thin;
  • If there is no hair on the eyebrows completely or partially, then the effect of their presence is created;
  • Apply pigment to a separate part of the eyebrow or tint it completely using different shades;
  • Mask existing defects, an excellent option for correcting scars;
  • Give your eyebrows a new shape or color.

What is eyebrow shading and who is it suitable for?

The technique of eyebrow shadow tattooing or shading involves the use of special equipment (device) that applies pigment under the skin to a shallow depth. In this case, various shades of pigment are used.

The needles used are also of varying thickness and length; they only injure the upper part of the epidermis of the skin. This technique is less traumatic when compared with conventional tattooing, with dense shading of the entire surface of the eyebrow.
When carrying out the procedure, needles from closed individual packaging must be used, the technician must wear new gloves, and the instruments must be disinfected in a special apparatus. Pay special attention to these nuances.

Shadow eyebrow tattooing is suitable for almost all women, both for those with thick eyebrows and for girls with thin, sparse eyebrows.

Shadow tattooing makes it possible to express the beginning of the eyebrow more clearly, visually raise the eyebrow, and create the effect of “open” eyes. You can also lengthen the eyebrow tail that is too short.

If a previously unsuccessful eyebrow tattoo was done, the shade or shape of the eyebrow was chosen incorrectly, or the pigment changed color, faded or became an unnatural color, then using the shadow technique you can correct and correct the previously obtained results.

How the procedure is performed

  2. The hairline is being adjusted.
  3. Additional elaboration of the contour, during which the final sketch will be selected. The final adjustment is made using a special marker pencil.
  4. The master selects the shades of pigment (there may be several or more) to be used. The main tone should be one tone darker than the hair color and ideally match the eye color.
  5. Anesthesia is performed if necessary;
  6. The pigment is applied, this happens in stages, using special equipment (apparatus). In this case, needles of different thicknesses are used. The layers are applied in stages, that is, layer by layer.
  7. The skin is treated and the specialist applies an application of a special ointment that will stay on the skin for about a day.
