The best wedding makeup artist. Wedding make-up. Nadezhda Borisova, wedding stylist, founder of MakeupTrend studio: “Brides want feminine and light looks”

Wedding makeup for any bride is an important aspect of her look. A careful choice of the master will allow the girl to be the most beautiful and incomparable on this day. Nice dress, good hair and makeup add confidence and strength to your wedding day. A makeup artist for a wedding in Moscow is a convenient service that can be ordered to your home.

Getting ready for the bride takes more than one hour, and going to the salon for hair and makeup on the wedding day is quite inconvenient, because you need to always be ready for the groom’s arrival. Therefore, brides have long practiced ordering a makeup artist at home.

When choosing a good makeup artist, you need to look at his work. A makeup artist must understand that evening and wedding makeup are different things. When it comes to makeup, it is also important to take into account the girl’s wishes. The wedding can be stylized in one color or a certain theme can be chosen, which should be followed throughout. Therefore, makeup for a wedding in Moscow should also match the overall image of the bride.

The price of wedding makeup artists' services depends on the complexity of the work. Sometimes make-up artists combine two specialists and do the girl’s hair at the same time. But such a choice of a professional is a little unprofitable. On the wedding morning, it is important to get ready quickly but beautifully. There are only 24 hours in a day, and there is still so much to do, so it is better to start a little earlier, invite two different masters and prepare for the arrival of your chosen one. One professional may be a little slow with the transformation, which will make the girl nervous and upset.

Every makeup artist should discuss their work with the client. It is advisable to experiment with makeup first. It is important that the makeup matches the chosen outfit and hairstyle perfectly. Therefore, it is advisable to try your transformation in one salon. Then both the makeup artist and the hairdresser will be able to work together faster and come up with a beautiful look for the wedding.

You can order makeup for a wedding inexpensively, using the advice of friends and acquaintances, or find promotions or special offers from artists on the Internet during the wedding season. Such masters can be found on Wedding Expert. On the site you can find a makeup artist anywhere in Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Belarus. Thanks to the resource, you can get to a real master and lover of his craft. Also on the site, makeup artists quite often publish their promotions and special offers, which allow girls to become even more beautiful.

Also, a professional should always have everything clean and tidy. A huge number of brushes and cosmetic bags must be cleaned, without any residues of materials. You can see the work of a makeup artist as a result of a makeup trial. A professional will always listen to the client’s wishes and work on the makeup until the girl is satisfied with the result. Inexpensive wedding makeup artists are not a sign of ineptitude or poor work. Perhaps the work experience is still small, and for now the master is working on his authority. In the work of any master, the opinion of all past clients is important. Therefore, the first thing potential clients should pay attention to is the reviews column.

On her wedding day, every girl wants to look her best so that all admiring glances are directed at her. For the perfect look, you need to choose not only a stunning dress, beautiful bouquet, jewelry and other small accessories, but also make sure that they are executed flawlessly.
If you are not confident in your ability to create beautiful and elegant hair and makeup yourself that will be perfect throughout the long day, you will need good stylists and makeup artists for your wedding. When choosing specialists, read reviews about them, look at their portfolio and personally communicate with the person to understand whether you will be comfortable working with him on an important day, whether you can relax and trust this specialist. If you have any doubts, it is better to look for another specialist, because your peace of mind and confidence are more important than anything else.
Particular attention is paid, because it must emphasize the natural beauty of the girl, match the overall image, be beautiful and fresh throughout the day, regardless of weather conditions. To be sure, you can inexpensively order professional services of a makeup artist, hairdresser and stylist in Moscow.

Celia Kuchumova, makeup artist, TOP-stylist: “Preserving the individuality of each girl is the most important thing”

I have been working in the wedding industry for 8 years now, my journey began in 2010. Since childhood, I always wanted to change everyone’s clothes, do their hair, it seemed that all girls and women should always be beautiful. “When your hands itch” is my story. I studied at the philology department, and in our group there were only girls and only one Chinese boy, who studied Russian with us. We lived amicably in the dorm, and of course, at all sorts of parties, outings and dates, I proactively and persistently offered my services. Then I didn’t have so many brushes and luxury cosmetics, and I used everything that could be found: I had a desire, and no obstacles prevented me from creating beauty around me. I enjoyed my job, and most importantly, I loved that I was helping girls make a change and making a positive impact on their lives.

Wedding fashion is, of course, subject to trends. For example, two years ago it was fashionable to do high hairstyles with extensions, Greek braids, and huge buns almost larger than the bride herself. Now all this is gone, and natural images are in fashion. I really like this trend: it has a slight touch of fashion, but still it’s more about youth and purity, a lot of radiance, no overloaded makeup, tons of arrows and eyelashes, everything is very restrained, graceful and intelligent. This is, of course, closer to my spirit. The best thing is when the image doesn’t scream “I spent three hours putting on makeup to surprise you all.” Preserving the individuality of each girl is the most important thing, and it’s good that these are the trends now.

Are you inspired by any of your colleagues or famous makeup artists? Whose work do you like?

If we talk about our colleagues from Russia, I really like Olya Tomina and the way she works with textures. In terms of hair, my love is Tonya Pushkareva, she opened up the world of easy, careless hairstyles to me, I adore her work and am always inspired by her. I really like Lena Yasenkova’s fashion work, I like Lena Krygina, and her business approach to her industry and her team. I love so many foreign makeup artists, but I believe that artists from Russia are the best in any niche. All our girls are great guys.

If they come to me for advice, I try to ensure that the image has its own gloss, chic, but at the same time is girlishly tender, I really like it when the bride looks like that. And so girls are different, and I always find an approach to each one, to her picture of the world, her usual life, and I understand what she wants, I speak her language. As a team, we want every bride to feel the most beautiful, and everyone has their own beauty.

Do you have any taboos when it comes to wedding makeup?

Yes, of course. I believe that red lips are not makeup for a bride for the formal part. For a wedding party, yes, but they must fit the concept. Please, dear brides, I want you to hear me through this article: it looks terrible, just a red spot. The bride is a classic image, trends and tendencies change a little here, but in general, light makeup in pastel colors will never go away. The most important thing is that the girl looks like a girl, and not like an adult lady who is already in her fifth marriage. Some kind of purity and innocence must be preserved. In my makeup, I always use warm shades: peach, pink, I don’t do a strong correction - just a light shade on the cheekbones and blush. Therefore, for me, inappropriate colored spots in makeup are a taboo.

Last November I went on vacation and took only my daily makeup bag with me because I didn’t plan to work. But one bride, seeing that I was in Thailand, wrote to me in direct message and asked me to gather her for the wedding. I did my hair using improvised materials: a sponge that turned into a roller for a bun, some invisible hairpins found in a Thai store. The makeup also turned out very cool, although I had BB cream and one brush with me. But when you are a good-level professional, it is simply easier for you to work with good cosmetics and brushes. And of course, high-quality materials look completely different. But this incident with the bride proved that I can get out of any situation. If suddenly my suitcase with cosmetics is stolen, I will still find a way out and a way to collect the girl so that it does not affect the quality at all.

For some reason, there are now a lot of stylists who have completed some courses, bought some cosmetics and immediately claim top positions. I am very upset that many people devalue this profession and do not take it seriously. You can’t, for example, come to the bride’s morning in torn jeans and an old T-shirt, this is simply disrespect for yourself, for your work and for this client. It doesn’t matter whether the bride is going to a hotel or a one-room apartment outside the Moscow Ring Road, you have no right to arrive with a dirty head. Everything has its place. Stylists who begin to study must understand, firstly, that they love and know how to accept people loyally, get around rough edges, be able to get out of a conflict, and find a way out. Secondly, they understand that they have talent, taste, and the ability to see the ideal picture in their head. Thirdly, you must understand that this is serious, and fully devote your time to the profession, without trying to combine it with other work. You won't be able to sit on two chairs here. And of course, please invest money in knowledge and go to good courses and master classes. Yes, it's expensive. I often fly to other countries, and it costs me a lot, but I get the skills that give me growth, and it pays off.

Five years ago I had a very interesting bride who had an Indian style wedding. Instead of a dress there was a very beautiful red sari and the groom wore a silk traditional suit and turban. All guests and parents supported the dress code - it was so beautiful, colorful and interesting! And although from afar it looked like a party of Hare Krishnas with champagne, I received great pleasure from this work. Thank you, Lenochka, you were my only such bright and unique bride. And I also had my very first bride, in a khaki dress and “grinders”. Her fiancé was in military uniform, and she decided to support him in this way. She also had severe astigmatism, and I, then an inexperienced stylist, was briefly confused and did not know what to do. As a result, we gave her a very cool messy braid and makeup so that the astigmatism was not visible at all. I was able to balance this aggressive brutal story and stretch it into an interesting image.

Yulia Rudakova, head of the wedding agency. We work with Celia quite often, probably a third of all our brides. Girls choose her because she works in completely different styles, but always does her work with perfect quality. Celia is also very open and involved, accompanies brides throughout the day and is always attentive to the process, correcting the image of not only the bride, but also the mother.

Olga Milton, stylist, founder: “The main emphasis is on individual work”

How long have you been working in the wedding industry? How did your journey as a stylist begin?

My journey, as paradoxical as it may sound, began in the financial sector. Only the fact that I initially found myself in the wrong environment prompted me to turn my life in the right direction, finding the profession of my dreams.

I entered the wedding industry at the very beginning, one might say, I was at the beginning. It was 2009, a turning point in Russian wedding style. The first notes of American-European culture, a tradition to which I have always been very close, began to emerge. Wedding agencies appeared and contractors were formed, each responsible for their own business. It was in this holistic team approach that the first concepts and stories began to emerge. I am proud that in just 10 years, out of nothing, all of us, industry workers, took it and raised it from scratch, creating a high-quality offer. At least now there is a choice for every taste, but before there was none.

I observe with my own eyes the organization in other countries, and the way they work and create in Russia is aerobatics. We have the most talented, responsible and cool guys. This is not bravado or exaggeration, this is a fact confirmed by experience. One of the reasons why I am invited abroad is that it is simply impossible to find a good specialist there for a reasonable price.

Wedding fashion is considered the most conservative. Is it subject to trends? What has changed in recent years in the images and wishes of brides?

Wedding style is developing along with other areas. Very close to fashion: tracking shows at fashion weeks, looking through designer collections, I constantly see this influence. A model with a low, textured, messy ponytail walked down the runway at the show - not even a month has passed before the trend is picked up by a wave in wedding looks. A movie has been released or a new season of a mainstream TV series has launched, and what do we see? Immediate impact. A few years ago, after the release of “Viking,” I added medieval notes to my hairstyles in the form of intricate braids and plaits. Here it is, the indirect influence of external factors. An integral part of a stylist’s work is to feel the currents, catch all the trends, but at the same time remain yourself and not lose your signature style. This is the most important thing, in my opinion.

Russia has a high general level of stylists. I can’t name specific names, but I am extremely pleased to open the Internet and see what I see in others now. We are what we create. In the works of other stylists, the personality of the specialist is primarily deciphered. Everyone is very different, with their own taste and vision, which is why they are more interesting. Several times I attended one-off master classes and realized that the group was discussing someone, they were calling some names, but I didn’t know anyone. I simply don’t have time to look around, and that’s probably why my images are more original.

What advice do you have for a bride who doesn't know what look to choose for her wedding?

In my work, it is important to be able to offer, energize, lead, morally enrich, and give a piece of yourself. Even before the first real meeting, I am aware of the bride’s affairs, in constant dialogue and always nearby. Usually we exchange news, pictures for inspiration and outline an approximate vector of what we like. The most best result I always succeeded with this approach. Ideas are born one after another, and we cannot be stopped at rehearsals. I can’t even remember the cases when the bride came to me and didn’t know what she wanted. This simply does not happen, since everyone knows in advance what to expect after viewing the works.

You have your own recognizable style of work: the images you create for your brides are light and natural. Did you come to it right away or is it the result of long experiments?

I'll share a story about training. I completed a classic academic course in “Wedding Styling” at one of the oldest Moscow hairdressing schools and left each lesson with mixed feelings. I clearly saw that the female models who came for the image left the establishment looking less attractive than they had arrived at the very beginning. It should be noted that this was the first and last training in my life.

Probably, thanks to my character and perseverance, I was not disappointed in the profession, but only became excited. How can that be? The hairstyle and makeup are done perfectly, so technically that I can’t complain, but why don’t I like it myself? Here she is, the perfect elongated shape with a gradient, the smoothest arrow... and I look at the girl, and I want only one thing: to wash her, apply just one shadow, make the skin glow, light blush... sort out her hair, pull out the falling strands from the right places - and that’s it... another thing! Exactly from that moment I realized that I would only go from my own.

To this day, I try on each created image for myself and run it through my own filter - this is my approach. My concept. I always strive to emphasize the natural beauty of a girl, so that everything looks as if the person did it himself, but still the hand of a professional was visible and the details and shape were readable. It is important that the created hairstyle or makeup are not the main accents. So that the bride hears not words about how beautiful her hair is, but about how beautiful she herself is.

How long before the wedding date should a bride start choosing a makeup artist? Where and how is it better to look so as not to make a mistake in choosing?

It all depends on the wedding date, and there is no way around this fact. If we are talking about the high summer season, then the sooner the better. It is important not to miss that range of time, so that in the end you don’t have to make a choice from what is left, and not from what is close and what you like. This applies to the selection of all contractors in general. The furthest time anyone contacted me was 11 months before the wedding. On average this is 2-3 months in advance. If the request is during the high season a month in advance, then, as a rule, all possible dates are already taken.

Where to look? In the first years, I simply posted information on thematic wedding sites. They found me there, looked at my website and the work on it. Nowadays, mostly brides come on recommendations from wedding agencies, which, in general, can also be considered “on recommendation.” It seems to me that you need to pay attention to three factors: do you like the stylist’s images? Is everything clear on the website or in the description of the work, is there any “water”? And the last thing is how quickly and clearly, and also how friendly the stylist responds to the request and conducts correspondence.

There is a famous phrase: “A real master can play a symphony even on a stool, but by playing on a stool you will never become a master.” Do you agree with this? How important are expensive and high-quality materials in your work?

Yes and no. The contents of my work case melt away over the years. I look at my work and understand that all the hairstyles were created using one single comb for 40 rubles, and 6 years ago I had a whole pencil case of different colors and diameters of the same combs. Through testing, research and active work, I built myself a good foundation of tools, removing everything unnecessary.

But the downside is the specifics of the beauty world. You can't stop here. I still experiment, find and try cosmetics all over the world, looking for more and more. New acquisitions are a colossal aesthetic pleasure, a fresh breath, after which you want to run to work and put everything into action as soon as possible. So never stop, you need to explore new products!

Tell us about the most unusual or memorable bridal look you have worked with?

I always remember girls who don’t speak Russian. It's just a different culture and traditions, a different understanding of what a bride should look like. I once worked at a Chinese wedding. There is traditional makeup in a rich white and pink tone, this is not my style at all, but now I can do that too. Coincidentally, that same month I was working with a Korean bride and was already savvy. Another case was when I conducted a two-day master class in the Emirates for local stylists. The first day I worked in my style: laconic images, naturalness, airy hairstyles. Probably, the stylists did not understand this, and the organizer asked to increase the intensity of cosmetics and expressiveness on the second day. Black eyes, voluminous hairstyles. I had to change the program on the fly and then a sensation happened! Everyone was happy. The East is a completely different world with its own vision. That evening, I was invited to work on the image of a television presenter: she was British, and she just liked my usual style. Of course, such cases are a break in the pattern for myself and a shake-up, this is stored in my memory.

Artem Korostelev, head of the wedding agency. We work with Olya quite often, 3-4 times per season on average. In our opinion, she best creates delicate images and makeup that is close to natural. Olya is a high-level professional: all brides are always satisfied with her work, and she will easily find an approach to the most demanding client. Among other things, Olya has many qualities that are important for an organizer: clarity and structure in her work, adherence to timing and maximum customer focus.

Irina Mitroshkina, stylist, founder of a chain of salons: “Understanding and loving people is the main thing that a makeup artist should have”

How long have you been working in the wedding industry? How did your journey as a stylist begin?

I started painting brides and making money from it while I was in school! Despite my young age, older friends, sisters, aunts approached me, and there were many brides among them. You could say I started from school.

Wedding fashion is considered the most conservative. Is it subject to trends?

Of course, wedding trends are almost as susceptible to fashion as any other fashion trend.

What has changed in recent years in the images and wishes of brides?

Brides have now become shocking. The image of a classic bride has become so rare that even it is perceived as a kind of shocking thing. Everyone wants to distinguish themselves, to be unusual.

Which colleagues' work do you like?

I have a lot of talented colleagues, I can’t single out the work of just one, so as not to offend.

How did your salon appear and develop? What kind of people do you take on your team?

My beauty salon Prive7 appeared 8 years ago. I worked at the MAC corner as a makeup artist, and I had a lot of clients there, and then I began to see my clients at home. Then we opened the first salon, then the second, and then, together with my partner Suzanna, the most successful, large beauty salon Prive7, which transformed into a chain of beauty salons. I hire exceptionally talented, ambitious professionals who do not want to stay at one stage and want to grow with the team.

I don’t like it when there’s a lot of things at once. When there is a lot of makeup, a lot of jewelry, the dress is heavy, the hair is artificial - roughly speaking, when the image is overloaded with details.

Is a hair and makeup rehearsal required for the bride? What about the service of accompanying a stylist during a wedding?

Of course this is desirable. Although I have quite a few brides who invited me straight to their wedding. But it’s better to try everything on, look at everything, make sure that the idea is correct, in order to be calm.

There is a famous phrase: “A real master can play a symphony even on a stool, but by playing on a stool you will never become a master.” Do you agree with this? How important are expensive and high-quality materials in your work?

I believe that chic makeup can be done using any cosmetics. As they say: “The main thing is that the hands grow from that place.”

Where should a person who decides to become a wedding stylist start?

Learn from the best and work really hard. To practice. Understand and love people. This is the main thing that a makeup artist should have.

Tell us about the most unusual or memorable bridal look you have worked with?

This bride was Lolita. The wedding took place at the Dolby Theatre, the site of the Oscars. Everything was decorated with millions of fresh roses, and Lady Gaga sang for the guests... probably this is already enough to highlight this wedding and the bride as the most memorable.

Anna Gorodzhaya, head of the wedding agency. Star brides choose Irina Mitroshkina because this is a name, this is a brand, and also a guarantee of a great mood in the morning, because she is a truly competent psychologist who relieves stress and improves mood. I myself have been a client of Prive7 and Irina Mitroshkina for many years and recommend only the best for my brides. Her style is classic, good, correct classic, which emphasizes the advantages of appearance and hides what the bride herself does not like. I would recommend always coming to makeup rehearsals, because at them Ira selects what will be most suitable on the day of the event.

Elena Kandalova, wedding stylist, founder of the studio: “The main task of the stylist is to emphasize the natural beauty of the bride, and not to redraw her face”

How long have you been working in the wedding industry?

My journey in the world of beauty began back in 2007. The moment of returning from maternity leave was approaching, but the company could not withstand the pressure of the financial crisis: massive layoffs began, and then complete liquidation. Before that, I held the position of Marketing Director. I didn’t want to lower the bar and become an ordinary specialist. And I thought: oh, this is fate! You need to use this chance to radically change your life, test yourself in a new field, and turn your hobby into a profession! I have been interested in cosmetics for a long time and stocked mountains of new products in the beauty industry. Besides, I really liked to draw. That's why I decided to train as a makeup artist.

I didn’t want to go into the media and work with celebrities - a lot of pathos is not for me, cinema is interesting, but a small child and a scheduled job could not make friends. But I have always associated brides and wedding gatherings with positive emotions, euphoria and intoxicating anticipation of the most cherished moment in every woman’s life. The choice became obvious. I wanted to help ordinary women become a little more beautiful, more confident and happier. After all, every bride’s morning begins with working with a stylist, and her mood and sense of self for the whole day depend on this ritual!

Wedding fashion is considered the most conservative. Is it subject to trends? What has changed in recent years in the images and wishes of brides?

Fashion is dynamic: changing trends in wedding dresses entail changes in the images of brides. About 10 years ago we did curls, smooth buns and buns of curls - then this was the pinnacle of style. Then Greek braids became popular. If you look at the structure, the shape of the hairstyles has remained the same, but the technique and content have changed. Today, large curls and airy buns are in fashion, and Greek braids have also become more voluminous and slightly careless.

I can identify two main trends. The first is that natural, slightly careless hairstyles are popular today, as if the bride stood up, combed her hair herself and walked down the aisle. This is dictated by the trends of the fashion industry. The market offers new textures, light wedding dresses without a corset, flowing skirts and lace that emphasize the tenderness and tenderness of the moment. The second trend is more graphic - these are almost architectural hairstyles, buns, Greek braids and ponytails made from strands with a brightly highlighted ribbed texture. You may notice that these are common wedding trends. They are also observed in wedding decor - this is modern fashion.

In makeup, brides prefer an emphasis on an expressive look and, of course, pay attention to durability. The foundation should withstand tears of joy, and the lipstick should remain on the lips even after a hundred kisses from loved ones. But in general, the choice of a wedding look is influenced by the usual brightness of everyday makeup: nude, classic or bright, almost oriental version - depends on the character and temperament of the bride.

Do you need to match your makeup and hairstyle to your dress or should you think through the entire look from the very beginning?

Makeup and hairstyle should first of all suit the person - the bride - and then be in tune with the outfit and take into account the style of the event itself. But we strive for harmony and believe that every detail is important. Therefore, we carefully think through the image, taking into account all the nuances.

Tell us about your studio. How did it come about, how did you choose the name?

In the past decade, the market for wedding stylists has developed spontaneously. Word of mouth did not allow regulating the flow of customers, and sometimes there were so many orders that there was sorely not enough time to satisfy the demand. Many of my colleagues also encountered this. We helped each other out, recommended, and replaced each other in case of force majeure. They were friends and worked chaotically until many studios appeared on the market and competition became fiercer. We were faced with the question of how to effectively promote: one “sundress” was no longer enough, aggressive marketing came to the beauty industry.

At this moment, the Moskvichka studio appeared - an association of talented craftsmen. And since most of our clients were residents of Moscow and the Moscow region, the name turned out to be very logical. And the chocolate-covered caramel from the Babaevsky plant, which bears a similar name, has become our signature treat for customers!

What kind of people are you looking for on your team?

At first, only my stylist friends worked in the studio. I was confident in their work: we worked for many years at shows, weddings and other events, replacing each other if necessary. In addition, we all came from the same school - our teacher was Alla Strizh. By the way, she also works in our studio and continues to teach, now our students!

Now we only hire people who have completed our wedding stylist training course and passed the qualification exam. The student must independently complete several wedding looks that will meet the quality standard in our studio. When transferring a client to a stylist, we want to be sure of his professionalism and high level of work. Because our relationships with clients are usually long-term. We remain friends even after the wedding: we help get ready for holidays, family celebrations, photo shoots, and even teach everyday makeup.

We employ passionate people, fans of their profession, who have left economics, accounting, law, banking in the past and decided that they cannot live without beauty! All stylists constantly improve their skills, undergo training in makeup and hairstyles from colleagues, work at fashion shows and various shoots.

Are there any bridal hair or makeup trends you're not loving? What do you consider outdated?

It's time to leave the curls that look like "Rolton" noodles, as customers themselves call them, a thing of the past. Glued, uncombed strands without volume and air, as well as hairstyles collected on their basis. “Competitive” hairstyles, performed in a technically complex manner with almost plasticized strands, as huge as a house on one’s head, also fall under the taboo.

Modern trends are airiness and lightness, naturalness not only in hairstyle, but also in makeup. We do not work with oriental, overly bright images. The main task is to emphasize the natural beauty of the bride, and not to redraw her face. This is the general line of the studio, according to which all our stylists work. We love light watercolor makeup, with nuanced splashes of color, translucent textures, pigments - in general, everything that makes the bride's face fresh, radiant and emphasizes the beauty of her eyes!

There is a famous phrase: “A real master can play a symphony even on a stool, but by playing on a stool you will never become a master.” Do you agree with this? How important are expensive and high-quality materials in your work?

Over the years of practice, different things have happened. I had to do makeup even with cotton swabs, fingers and one brush on the cosmetics that the client had in stock! This is force majeure of the customer, but we can get out of any situation.

Of course, it is important what tools and what cosmetics the stylist uses. That's why we always have luxury brands in our suitcase along with professional cosmetics brands. New products are constantly coming out, which we try to buy and test, and if the product is worthwhile, we add it to our case! New makeup trends require new textures and products. After all, we keep up with the times!

What advice would you give to a wedding stylist just starting out?

More practice! After training, each hairstyle needs to be worked out well before offering it to the client. Practice at home on a blank and hone your technique to perfection. Then pamper your girlfriends - it’s nice for them, it’s good for you. Be sure to work with models and take high-quality photos for your portfolio. Only after this can you offer the service to clients!

The same goes for makeup: if there are no test subjects, paint on yourself every day. Girlfriends and aspiring models will come to the rescue again. And constantly learn - fashion changes, new hairstyles, makeup techniques, innovative products appear. Follow the market, develop and never stop there!

Tell us about the most unusual or memorable bridal look you have worked with?

Typically, brides are remembered for their stories, not their looks. One bride met a guy through social networks when she was still in school, then came to Moscow to study at the institute. He proposed to her in a hot air balloon when they took off, and the wedding was outside the city in a tent. Very beautiful and sweet girl. The image also turned out very beautiful: on her long hair we did a Greek braid on the side - she had a Greek style dress. Then hundreds of clients came to me based on her photo, and girls still send her photos and ask me to tell them how to do such a hairstyle for prom.

Natalya Petrova, wedding photographer. I have been working with Lena for 9 or 10 years. She is the first person I recommend to brides and she was the one who made me look beautiful at my wedding. Every girl wants to be beautiful, especially at a wedding, and see it not only in photographs, but also feel it throughout the day. When I work with Lena, I see the happiness on the bride's face when she looks at her reflection in the mirror. We worked at a variety of weddings, but Lena's images were always very individual and harmonious, not to mention the fact that they last until the end of the evening.

Nadezhda Borisova, wedding stylist, founder of MakeupTrend studio: “Brides want feminine and light looks”

How long have you been working in the wedding industry? How did your journey as a stylist begin?

I have been working in the wedding industry since 2011, almost 7 and a half years. My journey began with the fact that from the age of 15 I collected cosmetics, did makeup for my friends, and did the hair of everyone around me. I am a fashion designer by training, and at the institute, when I defended my graduation project, I also painted, combed my hair, and created a complete look, even with a dress included. Without having studied this anywhere, I simply studied the composition of the costume, the history of the costume, both hairstyles and makeup clearly appeared there, that is, I immediately wanted to see the entire image.

Wedding fashion is considered the most conservative. Is it subject to trends? What has changed in recent years in the images and wishes of brides?

I believe that it is very susceptible to trends, and this is noticeable throughout the seven years that I have been working. I, among other things, managed to greatly influence trends: I do training, and what is shown and offered is what clients later want. Brides began to ask for more lightness and airiness, towers on their heads are a thing of the past, and girls want more feminine and light images. Hairstyles in European style, makeup that emphasizes the individuality and beauty of each person, and not just a single “corner”. Nowadays, light smokey looks are popular, with a lot of glow on the skin - the more glow the bride has in her makeup, the better.

Are you inspired by any of your colleagues or famous makeup artists?

I like the work of my colleague from Ukraine Vicky Lee. I even brought her to Russia twice with master classes. I can’t say that I follow my colleagues in Russia: I respect their work, but I just don’t have time to look at them, to be honest.

What kind of people do you take on your team?

Positive, talented, easy-going people who are on the same wavelength as me. Those who complete all my courses (this is about 2 months) and then interning with me. My philosophy is that everything is possible, that caring for the face and hair of clients comes first. If I see from a person from the very beginning that his eyes are sparkling and he has similar views, then I am ready to consider him for my team.

Are there any makeup or hairstyles you don't like? Will you try to dissuade the bride from them?

As a rule, these are colored and very contrasting makeup for brides. I work in a slightly different way, more gentle, classic and natural, with shading into the skin so that there is no effect of a very bright “painting” on the face - makeup is separate from the person. The main thing is to emphasize the advantages of appearance and facial features. Therefore, I really discourage very bright and dark makeup for a wedding, and I also always discourage brides from what does not suit them, precisely in individual moments.

There is a famous phrase: “A real master can play a symphony even on a stool, but by playing on a stool you will never become a master.” Do you agree with this? How important are expensive and high-quality materials in your work?

Of course they are very important. Firstly, I am a pure esthete, a connoisseur of beauty and a perfectionist. When it comes to cosmetics, I adore expensive, high-quality materials and beautiful packaging - there’s no getting around it. The client also perceives this as an aesthetic pleasure. This definitely affects the result: more care components, high-quality composition, more beneficial for skin and hair. All my hair styling products are environmentally friendly, I use only eco-friendly materials in my work. Of course, you can work with cheap materials, and a real master will also do well, but the very effect of aesthetic pleasure, “magic” for the client is brought only by expensive ones good materials and tools.

Perhaps only the professionalism of a wedding makeup artist can help you accurately select wedding makeup that will flawlessly harmonize with the color of your skin, eyes, hair and, of course, the tone of the wedding dress.

Wedding stylists in Moscow: the problem of choice

The professionalism of the stylist allows you to hide flaws and highlight advantages. But how to choose a good wedding makeup artist in Moscow, where there are so many different offers? In addition to recommendations and reviews on our portal, photographs of brides taken before and after creating their wedding look will help you here, so you can evaluate the level of skill of the makeup stylist, and by looking through photos of hairstyles that interest you from different angles, you can get the most complete picture of chosen wedding hairstyle.

Basic rules for proper makeup for a wedding:

  • use only high-quality and proven cosmetics. It would also be a good idea to conduct a pre-wedding rehearsal: apply makeup and take photos to really evaluate the appearance;
  • be sure to apply foundation to your face, and then, to avoid the appearance of an oily sheen, lightly powder your face throughout the day;
  • If you make your eyes as expressive as possible, your lips should remain discreet. Lipstick in natural shades copes well with this;
  • When doing makeup for a wedding, use only waterproof mascara.

A professional stylist and makeup artist will make you simply irresistible, and every time you look at your wedding photos, you will return to your fairy tale again and again.

But still, the main points in creating your wedding image should be controlled by you.
