Autumn-winter collection creative director Chanel Karl Lagerfeld seems to hint to all of us that the traditions of the legendary fashion icon Coco Chanel are not only not forgotten, as it might seem when watching the five previous fashion shows of this brand, but if desired, they can be restored down to the smallest detail. And beige retro shoes with a black narrow toe are direct proof of this.

From year to year, from season to season, a large “army” of designers offers us their vision of fashionable images. Some brands remain faithful to proven classics, while others prefer bold and daring experiments. Having studied the entire series of fashion shows for the autumn-winter season 2015-2016, we can highlight the hottest trends of the new cold period.

Trend of the fall-winter season 2015-2016 No. 1: capes, capes, ponchos

The new cold season is marked by a huge number of all kinds of capes. Salvatore Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta, Ralph Lauren, Chanel are sure that these are the details of the outer wardrobe that should cover the delicate women's shoulders in the cold season. Some of these capes resembled voluminous ponchos, others resembled warm blankets, while others resembled fluffy, weightless stoles.

Trend #2: retro nostalgia

Rodarte, Prada, Marchesa, Balenciaga decided to turn to a retro style, thanks to which models pranced down the catwalk proudly displaying dresses made of bright sequins, restrained monochromatic outfits made of suiting fabric, dresses with a pronounced waistline and wide skirts, long gloves, jewelry and handbags with fringe, large glasses, bell dresses, bright red lips, retro-style curls, etc. It should be said that retro-style outfits are a great solution for those who want to feel like the heroine of a film or musical, at least for a short time. However, it must be taken into account that such images must be well and carefully thought out, because retro style does not tolerate proximity to other fashion trends. That is why, when choosing such images, you will need to plan them down to the smallest detail: from nail polish to hairstyle.

Trend No. 3: fur trim

Fur is one of the main trends of the autumn-winter season 2015-2016. And now we are not talking about fur coats or hats. We are talking about the fact that boas, ankle boots, and jewelry (Oscar de la Renta, Fendi) were made in this material. If you don’t like all-fur products, you can limit yourself to fur trim.

Trend No. 4: floral boom

Zuhair Murad, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce and Gabbana, Marchesa don’t seem to follow the seasons at all. Despite the atypical season for flowers, these brands offer to decorate literally all items of a woman’s wardrobe with them - from basic outfits to jewelry and accessories. Moreover, floral appliqués, embroideries and prints can be equally successfully used in both everyday and evening fashion.

Trend #5: Even longer

Maxi length has certainly broken all popularity records in the new cold season. Despite the fact that at the shows there were also midi and mini length items, maxi outfits appeared much more often. The greatest interest in this length was shown by Ralph Lauren, Valentin Yudashkin, Emilio Pucci, Versace, Christian Dior. These brands have included a huge number of long, as well as elongated over the knee boots and stocking boots in their new lines.

“A lot is not a little” is another hot trend of the new cold season. Do you want to look fashionable? Incorporate as many fabrics, layers and colors into your looks as possible. This “anti-winter” movement is reflected in the collections of Acne Studios, Balmain, Alberta Ferretti, Isabel Marant, Nina Ricci, Valentino, Saint Laurent. Looking at transparent mesh turtlenecks or weightless chiffon dresses, the question undoubtedly arises: how to wear this in severe cold? But there is hardly a correct answer to this question. However, the outright anti-winter movement is gaining an ever-increasing army of fans, both in the person of designers and their admirers.

Trend No. 10: colored fur coats

Colored fur has also become one of the main trends of the fall-winter 2015-2016 season. To be convinced of this, just look at the new collections of Dolce and Gabbana, Zac Posen, Oscar de la Renta, Roksanda, Saint Laurent, Zadig and Voltaire, which included magnificently beautiful pink, burgundy, blue, green, red, blue and multi-colored fur coats.

Trend No. 11: back to childhood

The new collections of Max Mara and Moschino once again convinced everyone around them that these brands do not tend to follow everyone. Despite the fact that the vast majority of designers decided to resort to cold and impractical fabrics for the cold season in the autumn-winter season 2015-2016, their collections almost entirely consisted of warm images created on the basis of blown and quilted fabrics. Moreover, in this matter, no specific color preference was noticed. Brands used muted pastels and flashy neon colors in equal measure.

While a certain percentage of designers used retro looks, others decided to go even further. Trend #17: Animal Style
