Letter stencils are a useful material for creating a wide variety of crafts. We have selected several convenient templates for you, with the help of which you can do a lot of interesting things with your own hands. Some of them can also be used for children's creativity, because they look very funny. Others are more strict and classic. There are also many original stencils in the selection.

All letter templates are suitable for cutting out - just print them on paper. If you don’t have this opportunity, try to draw them yourself. Some stencils can simply be used as interesting idea. Most of the letters are collected in the alphabet (Russian or English) - you can select from the collection and print only those that you need.

All images are clickable and available in good quality. In addition, they can be opened in a graphic editor to combine them with something. So, for example, if you need letters to cut out the Russian and English alphabets at the same time, you can easily collect them on one sheet and print them together. Templates can also be enlarged or stretched to achieve the desired size of the workpieces.

In the selection you will find Russian letters that are perfect for cutting out to decorate children's blocks or home alphabet. Some of them are accompanied by silhouettes of animals, others by funny faces. The same can be done with stencils of letters of the English alphabet.

All the templates presented are suitable for designing postcards or album covers, voluminous crafts (like soap or candles), creating patches on clothes, etc. Many of them would be wise to print on paper and use for scrapbooking. If you want to spray or write with paints, print the entire stencil and cut out the letters themselves with a stationery knife (you won't need them), without touching the paper.

Let's continue. Typically, the font size is set by selecting from a list. In this case, everything is the same. Type your letter, select it with the mouse and set the desired size. But the creators of Word and other programs never thought that to someone it comes to mind to put such font size in which one letter occupies as much as the entire A4 sheet. For this reason, in the font size selection list, the maximum size is not that large - “only” 72 points.

If you don’t have the required size, you can simply write it in the selection list, as shown in the figure, since the font size selection list is editable (what???). Unclear? Then you urgently need to learn Windows.

Again. Select your letter, then erase what is written there in the font selection list and write what you need. What number should I write? This generally depends on what type of font is chosen. Select until your letter is exactly the size of an A4 sheet. In my example, this is 800 points (to be more precise, I was too lazy to select).

Other ways to enlarge a letter to A4 sheet size

As you may have noticed, the method shown above of stretching a letter across the entire A4 sheet has an obvious drawback - no matter how you increase the font size, the letter stubbornly does not want to become in the center of the A4. In the example below, this drawback is completely eliminated and the letter is located exactly in the center of the A4 sheet.

In this example, the problem was solved in a different way, but again in Word. It is worth remembering that almost any task has more than one way of implementation. You just need to be good at what you are doing. However, method number one is much more popular - few people want to think about it!

How to print numbers on the entire A4 sheet in Word

A very similar task - in my opinion, completely similar to the one discussed above. To create huge numbers for A4 size, you can use all the same methods that I showed in. So if you need to make sure that one number fits on a sheet (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or the number 0), then consider that you can already do this. Well, this is, of course, if you carefully read what was written above.

And in addition to this, I’ll probably show you another way to enlarge the inscriptions to fill the entire sheet. Namely, contour symbols in A4 size. An example is shown in the figure. True, there is already a fill there, but you can figure out for yourself how to remove it... (hint: shape properties).

Why is this necessary? Well, for example, in order to color it all later. :) And indeed, color printers are not that common. By the way, you can read about printing color images on a black and white printer.

To make a figure that fits the entire A4 sheet, first remove the margins or make them as narrow as possible (about changing margins). After that, from the Ribbon menu in the “Insert” section, select WordArt and add it to the sheet. Then just increase the font, everything is clear. It’s just worth considering one feature.

Use the text frame markers along the edges to expand the box so that your number fits. Otherwise, it will go beyond the frame and part of the number will not be visible. You also need to center the text so that it is in the middle of the sheet. To do this, drag it outside the frame border (usually down).

Many well-known practical teachers, such as Zaitsev, Doman, recommend starting to study letters and the alphabet with your child from 1.5 to 2 years old. Currently, there are many methods for teaching a child to read. But without knowing the letters of the alphabet, it is naturally impossible to teach a child to read. Using available material, in the form of cards with letters for children, will come in handy.

How to start learning letters with your child

First, you can print out alphabet cards for children in one copy. This will be enough to learn just the letters.

Children aged 1.5-2 years should be engaged exclusively in a playful way, for several minutes a day. With children aged 3 - 4 years, the lesson time increases to 15 minutes a day.

If you decide to make the letters of the alphabet yourself and teach your child yourself, then do not load your child with letters alone. A child needs variety; you can literally spend a couple of minutes paying attention to the colors and shapes of objects. Then the child will be more interested.

And most importantly, there is no need to grieve if the child does not immediately begin to “declare poetry” to you. Even if over the course of several lessons he seems to you to understand nothing and refuses to tell you letters and numbers, this is not at all true. The child simply remembers everything, analyzes it, time will pass, and you will simply be amazed at his abilities. Your job is to continue learning diligently.

When the child masters the letters, you can print out the Russian alphabet in one more or even in 2 copies. Then you can study syllables with your child and form small words.

The question of how to make a stencil in Microsoft Word interests many users. The problem is that finding a sane answer to it on the Internet is not so easy. If you are interested in this topic, you have come to the right place, but first, let's figure out what a stencil is.

A stencil is a “perforated plate,” at least that is the meaning of the word exactly translated from Italian. We will briefly talk about how to make such a “plate” in the second half of this article, and immediately below we will share with you how to create the basis for a traditional stencil in Word.

If you are ready to get seriously confused, using your imagination at the same time, you can quite easily use any font presented in the standard set of the program to create a stencil. The main thing, when it is printed on paper, is to make jumpers - places that will not be cut out in the letters limited by the outline.

Actually, if you are ready to sweat so much over the stencil, it is not clear why you need our instructions, since you have all MS Word fonts at your disposal. Choose the one you like, write a word or type the alphabet and print it on a printer, and then cut them along the contour, not forgetting the jumpers.

If you are not ready to spend so much effort, time and energy and a classic-looking stencil suits you quite well, our task is to find, download and install that same classic stencil font. We are ready to save you from a grueling search - we found everything ourselves.

The Trafaret Kit Transparent font completely imitates the good old Soviet TS-1 stencils with one pleasant bonus - in addition to the Russian language, it also contains English, as well as a number of other characters not present in the original. You can download it from the author's website.

Setting the font

In order for the font you downloaded to appear in Word, you must first install it on the system. Actually, after this it will automatically appear in the program. You can learn how to do this from our article.

Creating a stencil base

Select Trafaret Kit Transparent from the list of fonts available in Word and create the desired inscription in it. If you need an alphabet stencil, write the alphabet on the document page. Other symbols can be added as needed.

The standard portrait orientation of a sheet in Word is not the most suitable solution for creating a stencil. It will look more familiar on a landscape page. Our instructions will help you change the position of the page.

Now the text needs to be formatted. Set the appropriate size, select the appropriate position on the page, and provide sufficient padding and spacing, both between letters and between words. Our instructions will help you do all this.

Perhaps the standard A4 sheet format will not be enough for you. If you want to change it to a larger one (A3, for example), our article will help you do this.

Note: When changing the sheet format, do not forget to change the font size and related parameters accordingly. No less important in this case are the capabilities of the printer on which the stencil will be printed - support for the selected paper format is required.

Stencil printing

Having written the alphabet or inscription and formatted this text, you can safely proceed to printing the document. If you don't know how to do this yet, be sure to read our instructions.

Creating a stencil

As you understand, there is practically no sense in a stencil printed on a regular piece of paper. It can hardly be used more than once. That is why the printed page with the base for the stencil needs to be “strengthened”. To do this you will need the following:

• Cardboard or polymer film;
• carbon copy;
• Scissors;
• Shoemaker or stationery knife;
• Pen or pencil;
• Board;
• Laminator (optional).

The printed text must be transferred to cardboard or plastic. In the case of transferring to cardboard, ordinary carbon paper (copy paper) will help to do this. You simply need to place the page with the stencil on the cardboard, placing carbon paper between them, and then trace the outline of the letters with a pencil or pen. If you don't have carbon paper, you can press the outlines of the letters with a pen. The same can be done with transparent plastic.

And yet, with transparent plastic it is more convenient, and it would simply be more correct to do it a little differently. Place a sheet of plastic on top of the stencil page and trace the outline of the letters with a pen.

After the stencil base created in Word is transferred to cardboard or plastic, all that remains is to cut out the empty spaces using scissors or a knife. The main thing is to do it strictly along the line. It is not difficult to move the knife along the edge of the letter, but the scissors must initially be “driven” into the place that will be cut, but not into the edge itself. It is better to cut plastic with a sharp knife, after placing it on a strong board.

If you have a laminator on hand, the printed sheet of paper with the stencil base can be laminated. Having done this, cut out the letters along the outline with a stationery knife or scissors.

When creating a stencil in Word, especially if it is an alphabet, try to make the distance between the letters (on all sides) no less than their width and height. If this is not critical for the presentation of the text, the distance can be made a little larger.

If to create a stencil you did not use the Trafaret Kit Transparent font we suggested, but any other (not stencil) presented in the standard Word set, let us remind you once again, do not forget about the jumpers in the letters. For letters whose outline is limited by internal space (an obvious example is the letters “O” and “B”, the number “8”), there must be at least two such jumpers.
