Raise the eyelids above the eyes - exercises and gymnastics on video. How to do an eyelid lift at home using exercises

What signs can be used to determine how old a person is? Of course, by the eyes. The condition of the eyelids reveals age more than other manifestations. Over the years, they begin to sink and decrease, wrinkles appear on the skin, eyebrows droop, and eyelids droop. As surprising as it may be for many to hear, the cause of age-related changes is not at all stretched skin; the main culprits for sagging and drooping eyelids are the muscles of the eyes and forehead. Therefore, in order to restore a youthful look, you need to put your muscles in order, and exercises for the eyelids and skin around the eyes will help us with this.

Causes of wrinkles, drooping eyelids, sunken eyes and bruises under the eyes

A spasm often occurs on the orbicularis oculi muscle, due to which it decreases from above towards its inner corner, and from below towards the outer edge. Because of this, the skin that was previously stretched over the muscle becomes redundant and begins to sag.

Due to the habit of sleeping on the side, creases are formed that run from the outer corner of the eye to the nose.
Changing your sleeping position can correct this problem.

Due to the work of the temporal muscle, crow's feet are formed during squinting and laughing. Also, the reason for their appearance is the drying out of the temporal region of the bone structure with age, due to which the muscle narrows, adapting to the changes in the bone, and the skin folds into folds.

Due to poor lymphatic drainage in the body and deformation of bone and muscle structures, excess fluid begins to accumulate between the skin of the eyelids and the muscles. This is manifested by swelling of the upper eyelid, its overhang,.

Drooping of the upper eyelid is also associated with deformation of the orbicularis oculi, frontal and temporal muscles, since these muscles are interconnected.

Let's start working with the forehead area, where massage and exercises are extremely effective for lifting the eyelids and correcting sunken, sunken eyes.

Rejuvenate your eyes with exercises for the forehead, temples, eyebrows

For forehead wrinkles

  • Place one palm on your forehead, the other on the back of your head. Wait until the palm on top of your forehead naturally becomes moist and begins to slide towards your hair. After sliding, hold your palm in the hair area for 8 seconds. Do it three times. For better results, you can wrinkle your forehead;

  • Place the index finger of one palm on the side above the eyebrow. The thumb should rest against the temple, moving it as far as possible from the index finger and stretching the skin in a horizontal direction;
  • Use the fingertips of your other hand to describe spiral movements from the eyebrow to the hair. As the massage progresses, the muscles will be directed upward;
  • Repeat the same thing on the other side.
  • Then place your palms on your forehead, little fingers touching each other. Massage the middle of the forehead from the eyebrows to the hair in a spiral manner in the direction of the frontal muscles, helping your fingers by slightly raising the eyebrows.

Relaxation of the forehead and temporal zone helps to raise the upper eyelid.

Temporal area lift

Place your index fingers on your forehead above your eyebrows, and place your thumbs below your eyes. Cover your eyelids. Spread your fingers outward from the eyelids, gently applying pressure. Do this exercise for 40 seconds and then rest.

Strengthening the orbicularis oculi muscle

  • The technique works the orbicularis oculi muscle and others nearby: the temporalis, the procerus muscle. Executes slowly. Find a point at the level of your eyelids and slowly protrude your eyes, looking at this point. By doing this exercise, you will feel how not only the muscles of the eyes work, but also the muscles of the temples and nose. Relax your eyes, close them, then start protruding them again. Repeat slowly ten times. Then relax your eyelids completely. You can rub your palms together and apply them to your eyes;
  • Move your pupils in a zigzag pattern, first from left to right, from the imaginary left viewing angle to the right, then gradually going down in a zigzag, then back;
  • Then do the same thing, just move in a zigzag from bottom to top, from the imaginary left viewing angle down, then up, gradually moving from left to right and then in the opposite direction;
  • With your eyes closed, move your pupils in a circle ten times in one direction and the same number in the opposite direction.

The last technique perfectly copes with age-related sunken eyes when performed regularly.

To widen the outer part of the eye

  • Place your hands on your temple in such a way that the fingers of one palm look at the fingers of the other palm: the palm, where the fingers are pointing down, rises slightly towards the hair, the other, where the fingers are pointing up, moves slightly towards the ear;
  • After creating tissue pretension, the skin should become slightly moisturized, after which the hands will begin to move on their own.

How to tighten your upper eyelids

  • Place your index fingers on top of your closed eyelids. Try to open them by counting to eight. Then blink and repeat 3 times;
  • Place the tip of your index finger on the upper eyelid. Pull the outer edges of the eyes towards the temples. Use your upper eyelid to press as hard as you can onto your lower eyelid. Perform sixty presses. Look in the mirror. Pay attention to whether you frown.

How to enlarge your eyes

  1. The exercise restores the shape of the eyelids, eliminates the effect of sunken or sunken eyes, and opens them.

Photo from the book by N.B. Osminina “Fitness for the face. Revitonica system"

  • Make two fingers, index and middle, in a "V" shape. Keep your palms with the inside facing your face. Fix your middle fingers into the upper walls of the eyelid orbit, and your index fingers into their lower walls. Maintain the position for 1-2 seconds, then release the pressure while remaining in the same place;
  • Try to widen your eyes for ten seconds, then try to squint without changing the position of your fingers for 20 seconds;
  • Move your fingers towards your temples in intermittent movements without stretching the skin, help yourself by slightly squinting;

Note: If you have trouble moving to the outer edge, move your fingers back towards the inner corner of the eyelid for thirty seconds, then continue with the main technique.

  • Change the position of your palms. Place your thumbs on the cheekbone, and press the inner edge of your index finger against the outer part of the eyebrow, forming a “frame”. Maintain the position for thirty seconds.
  • Strengthen the effect by moving against resistance - squint;
  • Relax the area you were working on.

2) The following technique also makes the eyes larger:

Photo from the book by N.B. Osminina "The world of the face and its secrets"

Technique:

Perform the technique for each eye separately, starting with the left.

  • Make a "V" shape with the index and middle fingers of your left hand. Point the outer part of your palm towards your face. Place your middle finger at the outer corner of your eyebrow and your index finger at the outer corner of your eye.
  • Place the index finger of your right hand under the inner point of the eyebrow, and the middle finger under the inner corner of the eye.
  • Imagine that the pupil of the eye is the center of the resulting rectangle. Using the corners of this rectangle, try to expand the orbit of the eye evenly relative to the pupil.

Simple ones, for example, also have a good effect on the condition of the eyelids.

The skin around the eyes is the thinnest, which is why wrinkles appear on it first. Not everyone can afford cosmetic procedures, and the results may not always be satisfactory. Exercises to tighten the skin around the eyes are a good way to maintain a youthful and fresh face using natural means.

Causes of wrinkles around the eyes

The most common skin problems around the eyes:

  • Crow's feet are small wrinkles emanating from the outer corners of the eyes. They can appear after 25 years in emotional girls with developed facial expressions.
  • Circles and bags under the eyes are also a common problem that many women want to get rid of.
  • Drooping of the upper eyelid is a problem for women aged 40-50 years.

Exercises for wrinkles around the eyes help smooth out this area, restore its elasticity, remove swelling and bags, which allows you to look younger. It is important to do them regularly, then the effect will become noticeable.

There are many techniques for facial gymnastics. Most popular:

  • Gymnastics using the Carol Maggio method;
  • Facebook building from Evgenia Baglyk;
  • Face forming by Benita Cantieti.

Each has its own characteristics, and there are similar techniques. Try doing eyelid exercises from different schools and choose what suits you best.

Exercises for wrinkles around the eyes Carol Maggio

Using her technique, 57 muscles of the face are worked out and after 2-3 weeks it becomes more youthful and toned. Maximum results are promised after 2 months of regular training. Maggio has two exercises for the eyes:

  1. Enlarged eyes. Place your middle fingers between your eyebrows and your index fingers on the outer corners of your eyes. Squint your eyes, lifting your lower eyelid upward. Repeat the movement ten times, holding the last squint for a count of 40.
  2. Strengthening the area under the eyes, reducing swelling. Place your middle and index fingers on the outer and inner corners of your eyes, pressing gently on them. Raise your gaze upward, as high as possible, squinting your lower eyelid, but without closing your eyes. Repeat the gymnastics ten times, holding the last movement for a count of 40.

When performing this gymnastics, your fingers should feel a pulsation.

Facebook building for eyes from Evgenia Baglyk

Evgenia Baglyk has many videos on her YouTube channel in which she talks and shows how to do facial gymnastics correctly. Below are exercises for the eyelid area.

  1. “Shiva's Gaze” - helps strengthen the internal muscles of the eyes, eliminate swelling and swelling. It is especially good to do it in the morning. Its essence is to perform zigzag movements with the eyes from top to bottom and back, repeat 10-20 times.
  2. Strengthening the upper eyelid. Place your middle and index fingers on the inner and outer corners of your eyes and close your eyes tightly. Your fingers should feel a pulsation. You need to perform the movement ten times.
  3. Strengthening the lower eyelid. Gymnastics helps remove bags and swelling and make the area under the eyes uniform. We position our fingers as in the second exercise. We direct our gaze upward, tightening the lower eyelid, and repeat this ten times.
  4. Lymphatic drainage massage of the area under the eyes. With your eyes closed, you need to roll your pupils up. After you feel the tension, gently place your fingertips under your lower eyelids without pulling them back and continue the exercise. Your fingers should feel the movement of your eyeballs.
  5. Bulging of the eyes - straightens the orbicularis muscle, reduces its tension and the appearance of crow's feet. With your gaze straight ahead, open your eyes wide.
  6. Tightening the outer corners of the eyes. We place our palms in the middle of the forehead, turning them slightly to fix the lateral areas of the forehead. In this position, raise the outer corners of the eyebrows. The main task: to move the temporal zones, while the center of the forehead remains motionless.

All these exercises are in the following video:

Faceforming

Face forming from Benita Cantieti is not like other facial gymnastics techniques. Before starting to do gymnastics, Benita advises using finger pressure on different areas of the head to activate the facial muscles. If you have learned to move your ears, then you have achieved this goal.

Gymnastics from Benita Cantieti for the eye area:

  • For bags under the eyes. We close our eyes and relax them. We carefully place the fingertips on the infraorbital bone. We make slight upward pushes with the lower eyelid. We repeat the movement 60 times.

  • Smoothing eyelids. We place the tips of the index fingers on top of the eyelids from the outside and slightly stretch the skin towards the temples. In this position, press the upper eyelid onto the lower eyelid 60 times. Such gymnastics is an ambulance in the fight against crow's feet.

  • Eye opening. Place your middle and index fingers on the outer corners of your eyebrows. Gently pull the outer corners of your eyes towards your temples. Repeat the exercise 60 times.

By regularly doing exercises for wrinkles around the eyes, you will begin to notice positive changes: your eyes will become more open, wrinkles and swelling will decrease.

These exercises strengthen the lower eyelids and the orbicularis oculi muscle, and also reduce puffiness under the eyes and empty space under the eyes.

1. The exercise can be performed sitting or lying down. To train your muscles to the maximum, change your position. Take the starting position as shown in the figure: place your middle fingers on the inner corners of your eyes, and your index fingers on the outer corners. Apply gentle pressure to your eyelids and look up. Squint your eyes hard and feel the pulse beating on the outside and inside of your eye. Squint your eyes ten times and relax, trying to keep your upper eyelids wide open.

2. Continuing to squint, raise your eyes upward, as if some thought came to your mind. A strong squint of the lower eyelids should be maintained. Keep your buttocks tense and count to 40, mentally focusing on the movement of the muscles on the outside and inside of the eye.

This lower eyelid strengthening exercise should be performed twice a day. When moving your eyelids, do not forget to press your fingers on the inner and outer corners of your eyes to prevent skin folds from forming.

3. Close your eyes. Use your fingertips to touch the space between your eyebrows and eyes. With a slight movement, move your eyebrows half a centimeter from the upper edge of the eye socket and press harder. Stay in this position for about 6 seconds without opening your eyes, then relax.

4. Place your fingers on the edges of your cheekbones and press firmly. Without letting go of your fingers, close your eyes, then squeeze your eyelids tightly. Stay in this position for 6 seconds, then relax.

5. Close your eyes, place your palms on top and relax for about half a minute.

6. Starting position – sitting on a chair. The index fingers lie at the very top of the cheeks, grasping the tissue under the eyes. On your lips, in their very center, imagine dots, then open your mouth, “moving” these dots away from each other so that as a result a clear, long oval is formed. Close your eyes and roll them up under your eyelids towards the crown of your head.

7. Continue to keep your eyes closed and your gaze directed towards the back of your head. Then open your eyes and, counting to 60, quickly “flick” your upper eyelids. At this moment, your appearance should resemble the behavior of a coquette. In fact, you should feel a very strong tension in your lower eyelids. If your eyes have sunken too much, you will have to perform this exercise at least 3 times a day.

This exercise targets the orbicularis muscle that surrounds the eye. When the cheek and lower eyelid begin to sag, voids form under the eyes. This exercise strengthens and tones the lower eyelids and helps fill these voids.

8. Starting position – sitting on a chair. Place the middle and index fingers of both hands on the temple area and slightly pull the skin upward. The gaze is directed straight and forward. Raise your upper eyelids and then relax them. Repeat the exercise 30 times, making sure to keep your eyebrows in place as you move. Give the command “rise and relax” only to the upper eyelids.

9. Turn your gaze to your knees, then repeat the exercise 30 times, lifting and relaxing your eyelids. Don't forget to watch your eyebrows: they should neither arch nor rise. After finishing the exercise, purse your lips and blow so that the muscles can relax. If you really tend to look a little sleepy, you will have to do this exercise twice a day.

This exercise helps to increase the tone of the ring muscle of the eye, as well as the muscle responsible for raising the upper eyelid. When these muscles are constantly relaxed, the face takes on a sleepy appearance. Such people look as if they are about to take a nap or have just woken up. Few people would like to always look sleepy, because in our age of speed, only energetic people enjoy goodwill. With this exercise you can avoid this. It helps keep the eyelids lifted and gives the impression of clear, wide eyes.

10. Starting position – sitting on a chair. The middle fingers lie on the inner corners of the eyes, and the index fingers on the outer corners. The upper and lower lips need to be pulled in different directions so that a clear and long oval is obtained.

11. Press your upper lip tightly to your teeth, then squint your lower eyelids tightly and smile with the very tips of your mouth, mentally “pushing” the energy under your cheeks. The gaze should be directed upward, towards the ceiling. On the count of ten, relax your muscles, then repeat the exercise 3-4 more times.

This exercise has an amazing effect on those whose eyes are too sunken, or on those who have severe swelling under the eyes. If you have such defects, it must be repeated at least 2 times a day.

This exercise works to strengthen the circular muscle of the eye and lower eyelids. Its effect is to enlarge the upper cheek muscles and reduce the voids under the eyes.

Gymnastics for wrinkles around the eyes does not take much time; it is enough to do the exercises a few minutes a day to get a visible result that will please you in a couple of weeks.

Plastic surgery is an effective and quick way to restore the natural beauty of the eyelid skin.

However, not all people who have discovered age-related changes and have various eyelid defects can and want to use this remedy.

Is there an alternative, is blepharoplasty possible at home?

Causes of problems

“Crow’s feet”, excess skin on the eyelids, “dropping” of the outer corners of the eyes, drooping upper eyelids, fatty hernias - all these manifestations are primarily associated with aging.

Subcutaneous fatty tissue becomes thinner, elasticity decreases, and age-related changes develop.

There are other factors that negatively affect the condition of the eyelids:

  1. Active facial expressions. The more often a person laughs, squints, or blinks, the faster small wrinkles form.
  2. Bad habits. Alcoholic drinks and cigarettes have a destructive effect.
  3. Dehydration. An insufficient amount of liquid is detrimental to the skin of the eyelids.
  4. Poor nutrition, vitamin deficiency.
  5. Lack of proper sleep.
  6. Frequent stress.

Blepharoplasty is not the only solution to problems associated with the skin of the eyelids.

There are gentle techniques that restore beauty and youth to the eyes.

Exercises as an alternative to blepharoplasty

Special gymnastics for the eyelids will help eliminate puffiness and bags, tighten the skin, and give expressiveness to the look.

In order for the exercises to provide results comparable to blepharoplasty, you need to do them daily.

Before classes, a three-minute warm-up is required - circular movements with the eyes, slow and smooth.

The direction of movement is constantly changing - right, left.

The correctness of the exercises will help you control the mirror; you need to look into it when doing:

  1. The pads of the middle and index fingers are placed on the outer corner of the eye. The eyes first close tightly, then open completely. The goal is to strengthen the circular muscles.
  2. The eyelids (right, left) are raised alternately, the actions are repeated 5-10 times. This is followed by a one-time lifting of the eyelids and eyebrows. The goal is to strengthen the weakened muscles of the upper eyelid.
  3. Open eyes rise sharply. Then they move down, while you need to look at the tip of the nose.
  4. The head remains in the same position. The gaze goes to the right, then shifts to the left. Movements should be slow and careful.
  5. The following exercise is especially useful if there are fine wrinkles in the corners of the eyes. You need to blink your eyes while closed.
  6. The index finger moves to the outer corner of the eye, the ring finger to the inner corner, and the middle finger to the eyebrow. The eyes are carefully squinted, while the eyelid is slightly squeezed with the fingers.

Gymnastics must end with relaxation.

You need to lie down for a while, covering your eyes with your palms.

The tightening effect, comparable to blepharoplasty, occurs within a couple of weeks if done regularly.

Massage

Lymphatic drainage massage is an effective alternative to blepharoplasty.

The procedure is especially recommended for those whose eyelids have just begun to deteriorate.

It is optimal to repeat the “treatment” twice a day.

Using a cream containing vitamin E and aloe extract will help improve the result.

Massage technique:

  1. The massage begins with thoroughly cleansing the skin and applying cream to problem areas.
  2. Then you need to pay attention to “warm-up”.
  3. The scalp is massaged for a minute. The nature of the movements is circular, small, the direction is counterclockwise.
  4. The final stage of preparation is to gently pull the hair upward. To do this, the strands collected in a bun are collected at the roots.

Lymphatic drainage massage includes the following actions:

  1. The palms are placed on the forehead, the tips of the fingers touching approximately in its center. The forehead is gently massaged towards the edges. The action is carried out five times, movements should not be sudden.
  2. Fingers are placed on the temples, squeezing them slightly. The position is maintained for about 5 seconds, followed by relaxation. Five repetitions is enough.
  3. The fingers are distributed over the face, touching the area of the cheeks, the area under the eyes and eyebrows. The captured zones are compressed for 5 seconds, then released. Number of repetitions – 5.
  4. Fingers move to the cheeks, gently squeeze them for 5 seconds.
  5. The fingertips are placed on the face, passing through the corners of the eyes, the area around them, and touching the temples. Gentle tapping continues for about 2 minutes.
  6. The face is squeezed with the palms for 5 seconds, then the hands relax. The action is repeated 5 times.

Lymphatic drainage massage activates oxygen supply to cells and improves blood circulation.

With its help, shallow wrinkles are smoothed out, puffiness disappears, “bags” and bruises under the eyes are eliminated, and the corners of the eyes are raised.

Masks and creams

Eyelid creams and masks are an economical alternative to blepharoplasty.

Regardless of the skin condition, their use will provide quick and noticeable results.

Mask recipes:

  1. Strawberry mask effectively refreshes the delicate skin of the eyelids, smoothes and nourishes it. Strawberries are kneaded with a spoon and mixed with cream until the consistency of a thick mass. The finished “cream” is wrapped in gauze and kept on the eyelids for half an hour. Adding honey will enhance the results. When removing the mask, it is recommended to use milk.
  2. Oatmeal mask– powerful lifting for the eyelids. The flakes are thoroughly crushed and poured with hot cream. Wait the time necessary for the composition to cool, then mix it with olive oil (just a few drops). The finished mask is applied to the skin of the eyelids for 20-30 minutes.
  3. Nettle mask saturates the skin of the eyelids with valuable elements. The leaves are crushed using a mixer or by hand, poured with boiling water, and left for half an hour. The resulting mass is carefully filtered, a small amount of starch and honey is added. The mask is placed in gauze and applied to the face for half an hour. It is most convenient to wash it off with cool water.
  4. Protein mask restores elasticity to the eyelid skin and tightens it. For preparation, take half a small cucumber. The vegetable is finely grated and the juice is squeezed out of its mass. Whipped protein is mixed with the juice, a teaspoon of flour is added (wheat is best). The maximum exposure time is 15 minutes, the mask is removed until completely dry.

- a solution for those who do not want to waste time preparing home remedies.

Their composition allows them to effectively eliminate age-related changes affecting the eyelids and saturate the skin with valuable substances.

Which cream to choose?

The right cream can also combat problems that are addressed by:

  1. If the skin of the eyelids loses its natural elasticity and is weakened, we can recommend creams containing fruit acids. The products activate collagen production.
  2. If a woman is fond of tanning and this negatively affects the condition of her eyelids, it is worth trying anti-oxidizing creams. They not only protect the skin, but also refresh it and fight wrinkles.
  3. After 35 years, you can pay attention to creams containing vitamin A. The products are effective against deep wrinkles and “revitalize” the eyes.
  4. “Bags” and swelling are eliminated with the help of creams that include hyaluronic acid, caffeine, and seaweed.

Cosmetologists do not advise focusing on one cream.

It is useful to alternate products, using one in the morning and the other in the evening.

How to apply the cream?

When applying the cream, do not apply the cream directly to the eyelids, because overnight the cream will “get” to the eyelash line and get into the eyes, which will lead to irritation, red eyes, and swelling.

Apply eye cream not on the eyelids, but around the eyelids, then overnight the cream will appear on the eyelids, and not in the eyes.

Folk remedies

Traditional medicine is a strong competitor to blepharoplasty.

There are recipes that allow you to achieve a lifting effect, eliminate bags and bruises, and “refresh” your look:

  1. Potato compress Gives eyelids elasticity and moisturizes the skin. The mashed potatoes are placed in gauze, folded in half. The compress is distributed over the eyelids and lasts for a quarter of an hour. After this, be sure to wash with cold water.
  2. Cucumber juice provides a similar result. Fresh slices of the product are applied to the eyes, and the compress is kept for about 10 minutes.
  3. Banana pulp Knead thoroughly and mix with butter. The compress is applied for 10 minutes. The result is a powerful lifting effect.
  4. Parsley decoction useful for hernia of the eyelids. The product slows down its growth and restores skin turgor. A small amount of parsley is thoroughly chopped, poured with boiling water, and boiled over low heat for three minutes. The cooled broth is filtered, cotton swabs soaked in it are kept on the eyelids for 10 minutes.
  5. Clay mixed with rose oil, inhibits age-related changes in the eyelids. The mixture is thoroughly mixed and kept on the eyes for 5 minutes. After washing, be sure to use cream.
  6. Eye defects helps eliminate (soften) pumpkin. The boiled pulp stays on the eyelids for several minutes. The skin is saturated with vitamins, swelling is relieved.

Following the simplest recommendations helps to save the natural beauty of the eyes from disappearing and slow down the aging of the skin of the eyelids:

  • the pillow for sleeping should be flat, a high product guarantees morning “bags” under the eyes due to impaired blood flow;
  • You should sleep on your back or side, avoiding turning over on your stomach and keeping your face in contact with the pillow4
  • eye itching is relieved with a decoction of St. John's wort. Don't rub your eyes too often;
  • When choosing a cream, it is best to choose a special product for the eyelids, its composition is optimal for sensitive skin, the cream is applied with smooth, patting movements, stretching the skin is not allowed. direction - from the outer corner to the inner;
  • Sunglasses are reliable protection from the destructive effects of ultraviolet rays.

The most effective way to preserve the natural beauty of your eyelids is quality sleep. You need to devote at least 7-8 hours to it.
