Costumes made from garbage bags. Dresses and children's suits made from waste material. Clothes for a matinee made from garbage bags

Often, educational institutions host themed classes or costumed performances. Their goal is to tell children that environmental fashion exists. The children learn to create their own costumes from waste material and at the same time respect and appreciate manual labor. There are many ideas from which you can choose an original and beautiful outfit. You just need to know the execution technology.

Making an outfit for a fairy-tale character, superhero or transforming robot from available materials is actually simple. It is enough to use your imagination and not be limited to one type of material. Original things come from:

  • paper (old newspapers, candy wrappers, cardboard boxes);
  • plastic (bottles, disposable tableware);
  • polyethylene (garbage bags, oilcloth, packaging bags);
  • natural materials (dry leaves, cones, dried flowers).

The main advantages of creating an outfit are the availability of materials and ease of execution. Most often, the costume is assembled literally from garbage that can be found in every home. Disadvantages include the fragility of the products and the lack of comfort in them. It is worth understanding that these are things not for everyday use, but for performances or games. Manufacturing process

When starting work, it would be useful to talk with your child about who he wants to be, what materials he would like to use most. And based on his preferences, prepare the necessary funds for making an unusual costume.

From cardboard boxes

Boxes are an ideal material for creating a costume for a boy. For example, it’s very easy to make an image from the future – a “steel” robot.

To create you need:

  • two boxes (rectangular for the body, square for the head);
  • foil;
  • scotch;
  • scissors;
  • colored paper;
  • wire;
  • hot glue;
  • gouache.

The work process will take a little time, the main thing is to do everything step by step.

  1. Head. The excess parts are cut off from the box to create a cube with three sides. Make a cutout for the face on one of them. Cover the top of the box with foil. If desired, make the decor in the form of a small antenna (use wire, colored paper and tape for fastening).
  2. Torso. Trim the excess pieces so that the box does not have a bottom base. Cut a recess on the top for the head, and on the sides for the arms. Cover the box with foil, use colored paper and gouache to work out the decor (buttons, mini-screen, energy stripes).
  3. Legs, arms. It is enough to put a regular black or gray suit on your child and attach several foil elements with double-sided tape.

In addition to the robot, the following costumes for children can be made from the boxes: knight, dinosaur, house, Lego piece, SpongeBob and others.

From plastic bottles

This material allows you to make incredible DIY dresses for girls. Images of flower fairies, mermaids, and princesses will appeal to little fashionistas.

To make a mermaid dress you need to prepare:

  • bottles of blue, white, blue colors (at least 20 pcs.);
  • scissors;
  • nail polish (pearl pink);
  • glue Moment.

Work process.

  1. Cut oval scales from bottles (4-5 cm for the bodice and 6-7 cm for the skirt and train).
  2. Cover the elements with nail polish to get a color shimmer effect.
  3. Glue the scales to the base (you can take an old dress). Cover the bodice with small details, the skirt and train with larger elements. Arrange them randomly, imitating fish scales.
  4. Make a wreath. Cut 3 flowers from the green and blue bottles. Put the blue one into the green one and glue it. Wrap a plastic bag around the rim, straighten the free end, and fold it into a flower shape. Glue 3 bottle flowers to it.

When cutting out costume parts, you can easily get hurt on the edges of the bottle. This stage of work should be entrusted to an adult.

You can also make a costume from plastic bottles for boys (alien, transformer, superhero).

From disposable tableware

This material allows you to create simple but effective children's costumes. To make a ball gown for a girl, you need the following materials:

  • plastic cups (depending on the child’s height, on average 200 pieces);
  • stapler;
  • scissors;
  • zipper;
  • thread, needle.

Work process:

  1. Bodice. Cut the glasses in half and remove the bottom. Place the two parts one inside the other (the top one is 2 cm higher than the bottom one), and fasten it with a stapler. Lay out the resulting fastened parts in 2 rows from bottom to top to the height of the bodice. Make the sides and back from smooth parts of glasses.
  2. Skirt. The glasses are collected in tiers and fixed with a stapler. The first tier is the widest. Closer to the waist, the skirt should taper due to the reduction in the number of glasses.
  3. Assembly. Sew the skirt to the bodice using threads. To hide the paper clips on the skirt, you can insert a whole one into each cup and secure it with glue.

If you use glasses of different colors, you can lay out a mosaic (geometric patterns, flowers, rainbows).

From old newspapers

A little imagination and free time will allow you to make a costume even from waste, for example, from unnecessary newspapers. It's easy to make a ballet tutu out of them.

Tools:

  • newspapers;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • stapler;
  • thread, needle.

Description of work:

  1. Top. Wrap the newspaper around the fabric base, pin it together, and sew it on. Any unnecessary dress with straps can be used as a basis. Fold the newspaper like an accordion, straighten it to form a fan, attach it to the bodice, and secure it with threads as decoration.
  2. Skirt. Roll the newspaper sheet into a cone shape and fasten it with a stapler at the narrow part. The resulting parts need to be laid out in layers, forming a ballerina’s tutu. Attach the skirt to the base using glue and a stapler. If necessary, the edges of the cones can be made more textured - randomly cut out zigzags or pre-fold the newspaper like an accordion.

Making clothes from waste material is a simple and fun process. There are many variations of designing a dress for a girl from newspapers or magazines.

From garbage bags

A DIY costume made from garbage bags is the easiest to make. The child will be able to cope with the work even without the help of an adult. To create a Batman superhero costume you need:

  • black thick garbage bags;
  • scotch;
  • scissors.

Description of work.

  1. Cloak. Cut two large bags to create a rectangle. Glue the two resulting parts in the middle with tape (you get a wide, even canvas). Cut semicircles along the edge of the cloak to give the rectangle the shape of a bat wing. Cut 4 ribbons 6-8 cm wide from the bag. Glue two of them with tape in the form of loops so that the raincoat can be worn over the shoulders. The two remaining ribbons are attached to the edge of the cloak, this will allow you to tie it to the child’s wrist.
  2. Decor. The hero's mask is cut from the same material. Then you should print or draw two yellow superhero emblems, one taped to the back of the cape, the other to the chest.

Any boy will be happy with such a heroic costume made from bags.

From dry leaves

To create a costume from unnecessary waste material in the fall, leaves, branches, and cones are used. You can make a beautiful dress for a girl in autumn style in a few hours.

Materials:

  • maple leaves of different colors and sizes;
  • paraffin;
  • thread, needle.

Description of work:

  1. Treat the collected leaves with paraffin so that they do not dry out (dip each leaf into boiling paraffin and place it on newspaper until completely dry).
  2. Take an old dress for the base, preferably with flounces on the skirt. Sew the leaves to the base so that it does not show through.
  3. You can weave a wreath from the remaining leaves and add bright rowan branches to it.

A children's autumn suit looks very impressive, and the leaves treated with paraffin do not wither or dry out for a long time.

Costumes made from scrap materials for girls and boys do not require large financial costs and effort to make. However, you must remember the safety rules:

  1. It is worth making sure that the child is not allergic to the materials of the future suit.
  2. Do not use sharp or dangerous objects that can dig into the skin, scratch and cause discomfort. Avoid small parts that a child could accidentally swallow.
  3. Before putting on the costume, you need to make sure that the glue is completely dry and its smell has completely disappeared.

Do not trust needles, scissors, stationery knives and hot glue to children. Even if a child knows how to handle them, an adult should always be nearby and supervise the work process.

By following these simple rules, a joint activity with your son or daughter will bring a lot of positivity, and a costume made from waste material will teach your child to appreciate nature, fantasize and create.

Recycled raw materials for creative fashion designers.

The thematic environmental costume competition “Fashion from Waste”, organized by the Municipal Public Institution “Youth Center” of the city of Lermontov, took place at the Rainbow Center for Children and Youth Creativity.

A person’s behavior should be like his clothing: not too restrictive and not too elegant, but provide freedom of movement and action.”

Agree, this statement by the English philosopher Francis Bacon is an axiom.

Today, fashion increasingly strives to be not only beautiful, but also comfortable, in order to match the rhythm of life of a modern person. How do fashion trends relate to environmental issues?

Everyone in the world strives to save resources - this is the main trend of our era. But new life for old things, recycling waste and using materials left over from waste processing is an economical and environmentally friendly solution.

The “Fashion from Waste” competition was designed to draw the attention of young people to environmental problems and the search for solutions. The competition was attended by pupils of the ecological associations of the CT “Rainbow”, students of the fourth and fifth schools of the city.
Participants imagined that today was not 2014, but 3999. The same global changes that were feared back in the 20th century have occurred on earth. Natural resources have dried up, the face of the earth has become a huge smoky megacities surrounded by mountains of garbage. But man -
mobile creature - decided to use recycled materials to make clothes.

Fashion in the era of environmental disaster.

So, here is an exclusive fashion show from the era of environmental disaster - fashion from waste.
“You shouldn’t be too zealous when choosing clothes: the most stylish people look as if they don’t put any effort into their appearance” - this thought of Giorgio Armani became the motto of the fashion show.

In the “Fashion from Waste” category (making a suit or dress from recycled materials), the Fortuna costume (designed by Ekaterina Rodionova) won, which captured the imagination of the judges and spectators. All clothing details and accessories were made from playing cards and thought out to the smallest detail. The cloak, dress, clutch, earrings and crown - everything corresponded to the image of the fatal mistress of luck.

Second place was awarded to Arina Kornienko, who in her air-tight cascading dress “Running on the Waves” reminded us of our favorite characters from Green’s books. Third place went to the outfit created by Ekaterina Chursinova, which symbolized the dream of any reader.

Nomination of the competition “Crazy Hands”.

In the “Crazy Hands” category, the jury evaluated crafts, souvenirs and toys made from recycled materials. The brightest crafts, made from things that would seem to be of no use, were made by Maria Maganeva, Anna Solovyova, and Arina Chernykh.

Separately, presentations telling about the process and reasons for creating a particular composition from recycled materials were taken into account.
The works of Inga Martirosova (watches made from outdated but still usable materials) and sculptures made from tires by Andrei Mazin were highlighted here.

At the end of the competition, the winners received certificates and valuable gifts.

The Audience Award went to the youngest participant in the competition, Albina Salova.

  2. the middle of the piece is placed under the armpit, the ends are tied on the shoulder on the opposite side or twisted on the opposite side under the armpit, raised to the shoulder and fixed there.

All options can be improved by adding a belt, and the ends can be secured with a decorative hair clip.

According to the proposed schemes, you can make a multi-layer model using two or three cuts, placing the middles of the pieces opposite each other.

T-shirt and laser discs

An old T-shirt and a bunch of unwanted laser discs can be turned into a party star costume with just a flick of a needle. The necessary tools are an awl, scissors, a needle and thread.

A hole is made in each disk with an awl heated on gas.

It is advisable that the T-shirt is below hip level. The top is being updated. Sleeve processing options:

  • cut along the seam, and sew the discs (with two holes) onto the shoulders in the manner of shoulder straps;
  • cut into strips about 1 cm wide. The ends can be tied in several rows in pairs in a checkerboard pattern, forming a mesh;
  • Attach a disc to the front, side and back;
  • run spandex thread (stretchy) along the edge of the sleeve and pull it off. You will get a “flashlight”.

Great option for a club

A great idea for a club is a T-shirt and skirt made of mother-of-pearl discs.

If the sleeves were cut, you can do the same with the main part of the T-shirt. The slits can be lowered from the neckline to the bust line, from the line under the bust to the waist, or slightly lower.

It is important to make cuts along the vertical threads. The fabric will be wrapped in tubes, which can be left free, and discs can be “woven” into them.

Lay out carefully T-shirt and start sewing on the “scales” of the disks, starting from the bottom edge. Try to attach them symmetrically around the entire circumference of the T-shirt. The stitching can be slightly changed if the disks are initially positioned slightly higher in front than in the rear.

Sew the second tier so that the upper disc covers the lower one; you can combine the middle of the upper laser with the place where the lower ones touch. The third and subsequent tiers are sewn in the same way.

As an option, build it on the side or behind. The discs can be assembled either on threads or on a separate piece of material (scarf, plastic mesh).

Some of the disks can be covered with pieces of colored garbage bags; they can be replaced or supplemented with circles cut from plastic bottles.

Old gloss in a new look

The party toilet is sewn with your own hands using an old T-shirt, newspaper and glossy sheets (advertising brochures, women's or men's gloss).

Option for creative youth

Tools and materials: sewing machine, zipper along the length of the product to match and the same threads, scissors.

Separate the glossy sheets and sort them by color, 9 sheets each, 3 sheets for black. Fold each one into a triangle, folding the corners toward the center along the long side. Bend the edges at the base of the triangle, retreating 3-4 cm.

Lay out the skirt fabric from the triangles:

  • assemble the first row, stitch;
  • place the second one on top so that the upper triangles cover half of the lower ones;
  • sew the second row so that the stitching also covers the bottom one;
  • repeat until you get the desired length of fabric.

The width of the row of triangles should be no less than the circumference of the hips plus 4 cm.

Here are a few more models for “newspaper” creativity

Roll the black sheets into a strip, fold it in half and stitch it to the skirt fabric. The result is a belt.

Fold three sheets of newspaper overlapping, draw the outline of the top on them (you can make decorative folds) and cut it out. Cut the T-shirt in the middle of the back, put a newspaper bodice on the front side, which should be stitched to the fabric.

Connect the skirt and bodice. Sew a zipper along the edges.

Air balloons

Mostly long balls from which figures are made will be used. After picking up the bodice, form the skirt. To connect individual elements, use threads, interlacing of the balls themselves, and tape.

Use oval balls for decoration, train or skirt.

It is not necessary to inflate the balloons all the way. A slightly inflated oval ball can be turned into an original button by pulling the button to a knot and securing it there with another knot. Glue a smaller ball into the center.

Balls are a godsend for brave fashionistas

Garbage bags

Assemble a bodice from one or two bags. The skirt can be assembled:

  • into a straight skirt, connecting two bags along the side seams. You can attach diamond-shaped flaps on top, gluing them sequentially according to the fish scale pattern, starting from the very bottom;
  • Create if desired. You can make a triumphant appearance in it, for example, at a party of young designers.

    Fallen leaves

    The base is an old T-shirt. The main material is whole dry leaves.

    The leaves are attached to the bodice with threads. Decor – wreaths of leaves as straps – one or two.

    A similar element can be placed along the bottom of the skirt or along the belt. The lower part is assembled from leaves, starting from the bottom row with an overlap.

    The peculiarity of the product is that the leaves dry quickly, wither and become brittle, so you need to make such an outfit the day before its display. Optimal storage conditions are a dark, cool room with periodic sprinkling of leaves with water.

Clothes for a matinee made from garbage bags

The holiday in kindergarten will be unforgettable and fun, and a costume for each child will cost very little if you make an outfit from garbage bags.

Children will be happy to temporarily turn into inhabitants of exotic islands. Nowadays you can buy garbage bags of various colors, so your costumes for the matinee will be colorful and varied. Each parent will make an outfit for their child, having familiarized themselves with the master class on making such clothes, and thereby help the children organize a real holiday.

To make a costume with your own hands on this topic, you will need:

  • garbage bags with a capacity of 30–35 liters. on a roll;
  • rubber;
  • scissors;
  • scotch.

Roll out the roll, find the first package in it, without tearing it off, fold it in half.

To make the work go faster, fold 2-3 bags at a time. Then you can cut so many pieces at once.

Now you need to tear these folded bags from the common roll and cut off their side strips on the right and left.

Next, the resulting canvas is folded in half lengthwise and cut along this fold.

Now fold the next 2-3 bags from the roll in half. Trim the sides, then fold and cut along the fold into ribbons. Stack them.

Cut off the edge of the ribbons made from bags on the side where the cellophane was folded in half.

Now glue the resulting blanks to the tape with an overlap - on one side and the other.

After all the strips are attached in this way, you need to put an elastic band in the center and glue it with tape.

It remains to throw the strips in one direction.

The skirt is ready.

To give it strength, stitch at the top, below the elastic, without touching it. Bags are an excellent material for a costume for a kindergarten matinee, both for the bottom and the top. We sew a bodice for girls.

Use strips cut in the manner described a little earlier, but you need to cut the fold from them not on one, but on both sides. Then they will be 2 times shorter than for a skirt. After which they also need to be glued to tape and an elastic band attached.

You now have a skirt and bodice.

All that remains is to make decorations on the legs and arms using the same technique, and the costume for the matinee is ready.

From garbage bags you can sew a princess dress, an outfit for Scheherazade, an eastern Shah, or a fairy. This material sews well, so it’s enough to cut out the parts of the costume and then sew them on a machine. To give greater strength to the stitching, you can put braid under it.

Outfit ideas made from waste material

CDs can easily be used to make a costume for kindergarten or a school party. If they are in good condition, then use whole discs. They can be sewn to the hem of a dress or decorated with a swimsuit along its entire height, and for a skirt, a cord can be pulled through the holes. By pulling it together, secure the decorative elements of the outfit.

If the disc fragments are scratched, cut out triangles like these from the good parts and glue them to the dress.

If the child no longer reads his children's books, you can sew an original dress from them. If you put each sheet of paper in a file and then stitch it, the new thing will be more durable and moisture-resistant. Instead of books, you can use pages of glossy magazines.

Here's a dress made from waste material that creative designers came up with. This idea can also be taken into account.

Even ordinary toilet paper can be turned into interesting clothing. If you decide to organize a home party for the kids, and you need children's carnival costumes, you can make one like this in 10 minutes.

All you need for it is:
  • 1–2 rolls of toilet paper;
  • black cosmetic paint;
  • brush.
To make a mummy costume, you need to wrap the child, right on top of his clothes, with toilet paper. At the same time, the following should be covered: head, arms, legs, body. The face is left free, makeup is applied on it to make the image complete.

For greater strength, you can wrap a little white bandage on top of the paper and securely fasten its ends.

Other children's carnival costumes are also quickly made. If a boy plays the role of a mummy, then the girl may well turn into a snail for this time. Her outfit is also created using paper, but more durable.

This is what a fancy dress for a girl is made from:

  • thick paper;
  • ribbons;
  • hairband;
  • cardboard;
  • glue gun;
  • construction tape;
  • two small polystyrene foam balls or Kinder Surprise packages.
Take a roll of thick wrapping paper or wallpaper and cut a large rectangle from it. Rub it with your hand to make it more pliable, wrap it with a roll. Starting from the smaller side of the rectangle, twist the workpiece in one direction. Having formed a not very large area in this way, begin to roll it in a circle. To secure, fasten the curls with small pieces of tape in different places.

Based on the size of the child's back, cut out a rectangle from cardboard. Sew or glue 2 ribbons to it, and measure these straps first too. Glue the cardboard onto the rolled paper, and the snail's house is ready.

To make her horns, cut out 2 rectangles from paper smaller than for the house. Twist them the same way. Glue a ball or a Kinder Surprise package onto the tops.

The work is completed. Such children's carnival costumes do not require any special financial expenses, and bring children pleasure and a great mood.

New Year's costumes for children

It will be interesting for the child to temporarily turn into a Christmas tree. Such children's carnival costumes will certainly create a sensation when, at the height of the holiday, the lights are dimmed and the outfit shines with many light bulbs.

To make this New Year's robe, you need this:

  • thick green fabric;
  • LED bulbs 10 mm;
  • AA batteries;
  • wires for light bulbs;
  • chalk;
  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • pearls, beads for decoration.
We begin sewing a children's carnival costume for a matinee by cutting it out. The easiest way is to use an existing dress, sundress or T-shirt as a basis. Fold the sleeves, collar inward, attach this fabric template to the newspaper, outline, make the desired length, cut out. Make 2 similar parts, but on the front the neckline is deeper than on the back.

Attach the pattern to the fabric, outline, cut, leaving a seam allowance of 2 cm and a 7 mm allowance at the neck. Sew 2 parts on the wrong side - the front and the back.

The neckline should be sufficient to allow the child to easily put on the suit over his head to the matinee. Otherwise, you will need to make a vertical cut from the back collar down and sew in a zipper or make a clasp on the shoulder.

Without turning the dress inside out, draw diagonal lines on the inside using a large ruler. Try to make them at the same distance, just like the marks for the light bulbs. Turn the dress onto the face, stick the latter into the fabric, bending the tendrils of the lamps, secure them to the canvas.

Now connect the light bulbs with wire, securing it to the antennae. The scheme of this is that short antennae are a negative charge (–), and long ones are a positive charge (+).

Do not stretch sections of the wire so that the structure does not break and the fabric is not too taut. Pass the wire from the front to the back, securing it at the side seams.

Finish the neck of the dress, decorate it with beads, and a spectacular outfit for a matinee is ready. To prevent the garment from prickling, have the child wear a thick turtleneck underneath. If you were unable to purchase LED lights, then buy a battery-powered garland and attach it to the front of the dress.

Miraculous ladybug outfit

Children's carnival costumes may be different. This mischievous ladybug has a place at any holiday.

The top of the outfit is made based on a red turtleneck. Here's what you need to make such a carnival costume:
  • red turtleneck or T-shirt;
  • hair band;
  • black pipe cleaners;
  • glitter;
  • glue gun;
  • fluffy red ribbon or pompoms of this color;
  • black fabric;
  • glass or glass for template;
  • red tulle;
  • chalk or thin dry piece of soap;
  • black elastic band;
  • tape measure;
  • scissors;
  • tracing paper
Let's start with the headdress. Take a hairband, attach 2 brushes to it, rolled into bundles and bent in half. Place a dark cloth on the rim and cut it according to its dimensions. Make a cut in place of the antennae. Thread the fabric through them, secure it to the rim with the contents of the glue gun.

Cut 2 pieces from the fluffy ribbon and roll them in a circle. Glue these elements or 2 pompoms to the tops of the pipe cleaners.

Place the black fabric on the wrong side and use a piece of soap or chalk to trace the glass or glass to make circles. Cut them out and glue them to the turtleneck.

To sew a skirt, first make marks for future folds on tracing paper. Step back 2.5 cm from the top and draw a line. Then measure another 2.5 cm from it, draw another segment parallel to the first. Make marks between them every 2.5 cm.

Cut 2 strips from red tulle - each about 60 cm (depending on the size of the skirt). First place the first red transparent fabric on the tracing paper, make slits on it according to the markings (every 2.5 cm), then exactly the same ones on the second tulle sheet.

Cut 2 pieces of 55 cm each from black fabric, treat them in the same way as with red tulle. Assembling a full skirt. Place pieces of black fabric on the tulle folded together and thread an elastic band through all the aligned slits. Try on a skirt for a girl, trim off the excess ends of the elastic, and sew them together. Now such a wonderful ladybug can fly, or rather, go to a fun holiday.

Beautiful long peacock tail for children

It is enough to make just this, and an elegant costume for a matinee is ready. Here's what we'll use for it:
  • taffeta scraps;
  • linen elastic;
  • green ribbon;
  • blue, green, blue felt.
Attach the elastic to the girl's waist, pull it slightly, cut, leaving allowances on both sides in order to knit or sew the elastic. Cut strips of taffeta or tulle 10 cm wide. The more strips, the fuller the skirt. Tie these ribbons to the elastic in the manner shown in the photo, placing them on the sides and back.

Here's how to make decorations for a skirt so that it looks like a peacock's tail. Cut the blanks in the shape of a crescent with a sharp middle from blue fabric. To do this, it is most convenient to use a template, then all the elements will be the same size and the desired shape.

From blue felt we make blanks that are acute on one side and rounded on the other sides. We cut out exactly the same ones, but a little larger, from green fabric. We make large oval elements from brown felt, then stitch each one with light threads so that they imitate feathers.

Now you need to take one finished element of each color, apply it as shown in the photo, and glue it.

Take pieces of ribbon of the required length, glue felt blanks here, and then attach these feathers to strips of taffeta.

This is such a beautiful peacock tail that came out, it will become a part or the entire carnival costume for a matinee. See what other outfits you can quickly make using simple materials with your own hands.
